You Light Up My Life…

Recently most of my projects have something to do with the upcoming Valentine celebration, so I’ve been playing love songs while I work to keep me in that frame of mind.  Here I’ve created a table centerpiece using the new Spiral Flower Die and the burlap ribbon to create roses.  I love using burlap for so many projects…why not flowers?

Here’s the piece…

post64The vase is one from the Christmas holidays that had fresh evergreens in it that needed to be tossed.  Kept the moss and set the cylinder glass inside the box with a votive candle inside.  Then I went to town with the Sprial Flower Die and made Whisper White, Very Vanilla and Baked Brown Sugar flowers to  compliment the burlap “roses” from the Celebrate the Everyday catalog (pg. 37)  You just need to fold the ribbon in half and twirl and hot glue til you get the size flower you want.  A little burlap and raffia around the cylinder and it done.  I’m kinda liking it…

As much as I love making cards, it’s also fun to make something beautiful and special to brighten up your house here and there.  Hope you’ve been inspired to make something to compliment your décor.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today:  “If you want something you never had then you’ve got to do something you never did.”…Zig Zigler

My fingers are not only inky…I have hot glue everywhere.
