Yellow Rose of Tennessee…

So this card was saved for last…it’s being sent to my son and daughter-in-love in Florida thanking them for a wonderful Christmas celebration at their house even though they were in the middle of an entire floor renovation and without a kitchen…they pulled it off!  Amy’s favorite color is yellow…

Here’s their card…

Once again I tried to capture the sparkle…And, how about that background?

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

  • Paper:  The base card is from last month’s Paper Pumpkin.  Thick Whisper White cardstock plus Botanical Gardens Vellum Designer Series Pack
  • Ink:  VersaMark, Basic Black, Pear Pizazz, Crushed Curry, Certainly Celery and Daffodil Delight
  • Stamps:  Birthday Blooms and Rose Wonder (sentiment)
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Rose Garden Thinlets Dies, Wink of Stella (gold and clear), Aqua Painter and Black Embossing Powder

  • The base card is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • The Vellum layer is 5 1/4″ x 4″.  Color some (not all) of the shapes on the back of the vellum before attaching to the card front with glue dots in the four corners.
  • Stamp the rose on Thick Whisper White in VersaMark and sprinkle with Black Embossing Powder and heat.  With your Aqua Painter full of water use the ink in the lid of your ink pad and paint the light colors first then highlight or shadow with the darker color.  Add the Gold Wink of Stella to the dark areas of the rose and Clear Wink of Stella to the lighter areas.  Oh how I love these pens!  Add the rose to the card front with dimensionals.
  • Stamp the border and sentiment on Thick Whisper White and cut with framelit from Rose Garden Thinlets.  Add to card front with dimensionals.
  • On the inside of this card I placed a strip of the vellum I had colored at the bottom.  It looked so pretty, but I forgot to photo it before it was mailed.  It was a nice touch though…

How is your new year going so far?  Two days in and I’m lovin’ it!

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

Let’s get inky together…and Be HaPpY!

  1. Another lovely card, Billie. I know your son and DIL will appreciate receiving it. I love your special coloring and the pretty vellum DSP. Your “b-ism” today is very inspiring. As the says “you are never behind” and just start where you are. At the beginning of the year, I think we all want to wipe the slate clean and begin anew.
