Vintage Truck…

When I posted the Flower Truck earlier this week, I might have mentioned how much I love that old truck.  So today here’s another “old truck” just for us “vintage” girls…

Ha!  Who wouldn’t have wanted a truck like that as a young girl?

The “Inside the Lines” Designer Series Paper came in handy here…

Want the Stuff ‘N Digits?

Here you go…

  • Paper:  Thick Whisper White, Basic Gray, and Pool Party Cardstock, plus Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper
  • Ink:  Archival Basic Black
  • Stamps:  Country Livin’ and Custom Tee
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Scalloped Oval Dies, Stitched Oval Dies, Hexagon Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder, Water Color Pencils and Blender Pen

  • The Thick Whisper White base card is 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored, folded and burnished at 4-1/4″
  • The Basic Gray layer is 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ attached to card front with SNAIL
  • The Pool Party layer is 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Run through Big Shot with Hexagon Dynamic EF and attach to Basic Gray layer with SNAIL
  • Cut one smaller and one large Basic Gray Scalloped Oval.  One Pool Party Scalloped Oval smaller than Gray one and one large Stitched Whisper White Oval to fit over large Basic Gray Scalloped Oval.
  • Place the large Stitched Whisper White Oval over the Basic Gray Scalloped Oval with SNAIL and add to card front lower right with multipurpose glue.
  • Using the two sentiments from the Custom Tee Stamp Set, stamp sentiment on Thick Whisper White then cut out with small Stitched Oval Framelit.  Layer the three smaller ovals together with SNAIL and add to top left of card with dimensionals.
  • Stamp truck on Inside the Lines DSP with Archival Basic Black ink.  I tried to get that one flower on the door and let everything else fall where it may.  Color with Water Color Penciles.  Sponge truck body with Smoky Slate lightly.  Fussy cut truck.  I punched holes in the windows to give me a starting place for cutting them out.  Almost cut off that one half tire in the front.  Glue this piece to scrap Whisper White CS and cut away edges.  Attach to larger oval with dimensionals.  Color underneath truck for shadow with gray water color pencil and smooth with Blender Pen.

Isn’t that fun?  I know several girl friends who would love this birthday card.  Maybe I need to make more!

Yesterday was so exciting to see my daughter who is visiting from Seoul, South Korea, and my granddaughter who just became a mommie…  And, of course, Little Henry, (they call him Hank).  You just forget how little a newborn is.  But no matter, he felt wonderful, snuggly and sweet!

You are looking at “love at first sight!”  As time passes, I will try not to bore you with baby pics…but it will be hard!

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

never happens.

But I do know if your fingers are inky…you are HaPpY!

Antique Rose #TGIFC96

Today’s post is answering the challenge at TGIFChallenges to create a card inspired by Bibi Cameron.  All I can say is, “Wow!” after perusing her blog here.

If you’d like to join the challenge too, here’s the link.

Inspired by all I saw there, this card was created…

and a close up

She has some beautiful samples and I’d encourage you to check out her blog.

This card was made yesterday when I didn’t know there would be a beautiful rose arrangement waiting for me on the breakfast table this morning!  Today is mine and Sweetums’ 50th wedding anniversary!  How did that even happen?  The rose in the top pic is one from the arrangement…

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you on this card…

  • Paper:  Thick Whisper White and Calypso Coral Cardstock, plus water color paper.
  • Ink:  Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight
  • Stamps:  Birthday Blooms and En Francais (retired background)
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Zig Clean Color Real Brush Green, Lt. Green, Yellow, Carmine Red, Pink & Black, Low Tack Masking Tape, Small Tipped Aqua Painter, MISTI

  • Cut the Thick Whisper White Cardstock 4-1/4″ x 11″ and score, fold and burnish at 5-1/2″
  • Cut Calypso Coral layer 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ and attach to card front with SNAIL
  • Cut water color paper 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Put water color paper in MISTI and place rose stamp on card front and press with cover.  Ink just the leaves of the stamp with Lt. Green.  Color leaves in with Aqua Painter.  Heat dry.  Ink just leaves with darker green and stamp.  Use Aqua Painter to move color.  Heat dry.  Restamp leaves with darker green for distinct outlines.  Clean stamp.  Ink just blooms with yellow and stamp.  Move color with Aqua Painter leaving a few areas uncolored.  Ink blooms with pink and stamp.  Move color with Aqua Painter holding out uncolored areas.  Repeat with Carmine Red.  Heat dry.
  • Apply low tack tape around flower letting parts stay outside masked area.  Sponge lightly with Daffodil Delight and then just edges (not flower) with Soft Suede.  Stamp Soft Suede on acrylic block and use Aqua Painter to thin slightly.  Add to brush and add splats to card front.  I tried to keep mine inside the masked area…didn’t happen!  Heat dry.
  • Apply Soft Suede to background script stamp and stamp three places inside masking.
  • Remove the masking…do your Happy dance!  Then position the sentiment on the card front inside the MISTI and stamp with Soft Suede as many times as needed to get a clean image.
  • Add water color piece to card front with multipurpose glue.
  • Mask a small area inside the card and create just the background from the front of the card.  Maybe treat the envelope the same way…

Sweetums and I will be celebrating this evening with a nice dinner out…

Have an awesome weekend…see you on Monday!

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

I’m still inky…and HaPpY!

Our 50th Anniversary…

It’s true…Sweetums and I have been married 50 years next month!  We have had the most incredible, lucky life together…

A card kept sneaking into my mind to make for him, but finding the right time to be able to create it was difficult.  Life kept getting in the way.

But this week there was an afternoon open when he was playing golf and I had nothing pressing and it was the perfect time to devote to this special card for him…

I knew it should look vintage and of course have gold included.  The new Falling in Love Designer Series Paper had the perfect design…

It opens like this…

to reveal the inside.  I hope to include a photo on the left side.  You can see the envelope was treated with the same vintage theme.  Here’s a close up…

He always appreciates my designs and I just know he will love this card and it will make my heart happy to give it to him!

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

  • Paper:  Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla Cardstock, Gold Foil plus Falling in Love Designer Series Paper

  • Now lets work on the small card.  Attach to larger card inside with multipurpose glue so that it opens from left to right or opposite most cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by today for this post.  Hope you are having an awesome day!

Christmas Truck…

If you’ve stopped by each day this week, you might remember how excited I was the first of the week to show you this week’s projects.  I hope you weren’t disappointed and have maybe seen some things to inspire you in your creative journey.

Today’s post is one of my favorites…

Do you like it?  This came out exactly as I have envisioned and then some.  This time I was more conservative with the snow and it was dry in a few hours unlike the Rusty Truck from a day or so ago.  And I just love the grey tones with just that pop of color with the Christmas wreath.

The Stuff ‘N Digits are every so similar to the Rusty Truck but I’ll repeat them here just in case you missed that one (you can scroll down a page or two and see that one)…

  • Paper:  Thick Whisper White, Basic Grey and Smoky Slate Cardstock
  • Ink:  Old Olive, Basic Black, Smokey Slate and Basic Grey and VersaMark, Craft White Ink
  • Stamps:  Country Livin’ (truck), Thoughtful Branches (trees), Holly Berry Happiness (sentiment), Santa’s Sleigh (wreath), Gorgeous Grundge splat stamp (snow)
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Real Red Candy Dots, Santa’s Sleigh Thinlits Dies, White Embossing Powder, Aqua Painter

  • The Thick Whisper White base card is 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored, folded and burnished at 4-1/4″
  • The Basic Grey layer is 4″ x 5-1/4″ attached to card front with SNAIL
  • The Smoky Slate layer is 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″.  Stamp truck image on post it note, “fussy cute” to use as a mask.   Stamp truck in Basic Black on Smoky  Slate and cover with mask.  Stamp trees in Basic Black and remove mask.  Color truck with Aqua Painter and Smoky Slate reinker in stamp pad lid.  Color wood and tires with Basic Grey.  Using a small round paint brush add Craft White Ink from bottom of truck to foreground.  Add a little extra around base of truck and wheel.  Add to truck where snow might mound.  Add to some of the tree branches.  With Gorgeous Grunge splat stamp add snow in VersaMark and sprinkle with White Embossing Powder and heat.  What do you think?  Are you liking it?
  • Let’s make that little wreath for the front of the truck.  Stamp the wreath from Santa’s Sleigh in Old Olive on scrap Whisper White and cut out with coordinating thinlit.  Make a slice in the wreath.  Add a glue dot to the back of one side where slit is and to the front side opposite.  Over lay edges making the wreath smaller.  Add Real Red Candy Dots or Basic Pearls painted with permanent red ink. Cut small pieces of dimensionals for the back and add to truck grill.
  • Can you stand it?  Now add this to the front of your card with SNAIL.
  • Inside there is a layer of Basic Grey 3-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ with a layer of Whisper White 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ on top.

I’m so glad you stopped by today.  With all the political news today I’m sure the whole world has gone upside down!

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

I’m pretty sure stampers could run this world without all the drama.

Me?  I’m perfectly HaPpY and inky!

Roomie Gifts…

Making a little special “something” for your roomies at convention is traditional.

today I’ll show you what I made for my roomies and later I’ll show you gifts I received.

Here’s one of mine…

“Sweetums” put the handles from the hardware store on for me.mmthen the new Timeless Elegance DSP was used to line the case with a little marker coloring on one of the designs. Mother case straps are Watermelon Wonder with stitching.mmthe postage stamps are retired but fit the project so I used them.

A little initial tag and and some pretty Watermelon Wonder Lace trim are added to personalize the gift.

ill show you the gifts inside in tomorrow’s post. Hope you will stop by.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…
