There’s just something about this little sunflower!

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits on this thank you note…

  • Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, Pear Pizazz and Pool Party
  • Stamps:  Paper Pumpkin September, Designer Tin of Cards (sentiment) Birthday Banners (banner) Touches of Texture (background)
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Linen Thread, Bunch of Banners Framelits

  • On scrap Whisper White stamp “grateful” in Pear Pizazz and tag stitching.  Stamp “for you” in Soft Suede and add tag stitching.  Cut but with banner framelit.  Overlap the end of one tag over the  other and secure with glue dot.  Add to stem with glue dot.
  • Make bow from Linen Thread (video here) and attach to card front with glue dot.
  • Inside this card I stamped one sunflower in the lower right corner and also on the lower left corner of the envelope.

I’m posting a little earlier today to watch my favorite college team play this afternoon.  Hope you are planning a nice relaxing fall weekend wherever you are too…

“Thanks” Scarecrow…

Now that my normal stamping classes are done this month and my BIG birthday has passed into the sunset…I’ve got lots of “thanking” to do!

Here’s a start to my thank you cards…

scarecrow2

Isn’t this little cookie cutter scarecrow just the cutest?  I thought he would look nice on my fall thank you notes…and it gave me a chance to make some woodgrain background in fall colors…

Here are the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

Stuff

  • Paper:  3-1/2″ x 5″ Crumb Cake Note Card, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry and Whisper White Cardstock
  • Ink:  Early Espresso, Basic Black Ink Pads and Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Blushing Bride markers.  I used my Blush Blendability Pen, but if you don’t have that try crumb cake and add the color with a Blender Pen to keep it light so the Blushing Bride cheeks will show.
  • Stamps:  Cookie Cutter Christmas, Thoughtful Banners (sentiment), Woodgrain (background) and Timeless Textures
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Linen Thread, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies, Duet Banner, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch

Digits

  • Cut the Soft Suede layer 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″ attached to 3-1/2″ x 5″ Crumb Cake Notecard with SNAIL
  • Cut the Crushed Curry layer 3″ x 4-1/2″.  Stamp Woodgrain background stamp with Early Espresso.  Add border using Timeless Textures and Early Espresso ink.  Distress edges with distressing tool, scissors held in “v” shape or finger nails.  Don’t be afraid to add tears here and there.
  • Stamp and punch banner.  Add Pumpkin Pie marker to flagged ends.  Add to card front top with dimensionals.
  • Cut one large Swirly from Soft Suede.  Attach to bottom of card front with Thin Tipped Glue or Multirpurpose Glue.
  • Stamp, color and punch scarecrow.  Add several dimensionals to back.  Loop Linen Thread several times on back of scarecrow then attach at an angle over Swirly.

This cute little guy is going to help me let everyone know how much I appreciate them this month.

Are you watching football today?  My Tennessee VOLS won today…Yay!  Have a great weekend and I hope to see you here again on Monday…

You’re In My Thoughts…

Alright…I’ll be really honest with all of you.  I resisted this stamp set originally because I was disappointed in the way it was presented to demonstrators.

This stamp set will only be available until the end of the month.  Then all these fabulous samples started to appear on Pinterest and Stampin’ Connection and I just couldn’t resist any longer.

So since I’m already behind with this set and its only available for such a short time AND because I’ve fallen head over heels with it, I’m going to feature it all this week and show how it can be used in every season of the year.

Today, though I needed a sympathy card.  It works for that too…

thoughtfulbranch3

The stamp set is Thoughtful Branches.  Here’s a peek at the inside…

thoughtfulbranch

With a little VersaMark and White Embossing Powder you could add “snow” to the branches, but here I’ve added a second tree to shadow the other.

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

Stuff

  • Paper:  Sahara Sand, Early Espresso and Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack
  • Ink:  Early Espresso
  • Stamps:  Thoughtful Branches and Layering Love (sentiment)
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Linen Thread Thoughtful Branches coordinating thinlet set

Digits

  • The Sahara Sand base card is 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored and folded at 5-1/2″
  • The Early Espresso layer is 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • The DSP layer is 3-3/4″ x 5″ attached to the Early Espresso layer with adhesive.  Stamp sentiment in Early Espresso.  Cut two trees with thinlet one in Early Espresso and one in Sahara Sand.  Using multipurpose or thin tipped glue, offset trees and glue together.  Add to DSP with glue.
  • Attach several rounds of Linen Thread around the bottom of these two layers, then attach to card front with glue.
  • Make linen thread bow…video instructions here.
  • Inside the Early Espresso layer is 4-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ attached to card with adhesive
  • The Sahara Sand layer is 4-1/4′ x 3-1/4″ attached to Early Espresso layer with adhesive.
  • Stamp sentiment in Early Espresso.
  • Add a 3-1/4″ x 1-1/2″ strip of DSP to left side.
  • Cut two leaves one in Sahara Sand and one in Early Espresso.  Glue together slightly offset and then to top left corner.

Hope you enjoyed this post today and the ones to follow.  Not one looks anything like the other.  They will represent every season and then some.

If interested in ordering, this set can be ordered as a bundle (stamp set and thinlets) the cost is $52.  Order #144328.  With the popularity of this set and the impending deadline, the sooner you order the better.

And, of course, I’d love for you to order from me…just click on the “shop now” star to the right of this post.

Thanks Beary Much…

I’ve heard some don’t like this little teddy bear stamp…I don’t see how.  He stamps up with such a twinkle in his eye and just looks all soft and lovable to me.  And once you figure out how to use your color (any color), the three-step stamping is a cinch.

Let’s make a card with him today…

Just A Note…

Today was a day dedicated to being in the studio and so far it has been the best day ever!  Every surface in this studio is a mess, but I have produced a bunch of very different projects.

The card posted today is a thank you card placed in order bags being picked up as I write…

orderthankyou

I suppose these could be used for just about anything with the right sentiment inside except maybe masculine…and they are so much fun to make.  They are the same color combo as the card posted yesterday…love it!

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

Stuff

  • Paper:  3 1/2″ x 5″ Whisper White Notecard and Thick Whisper White Cardstock
  • Ink:  Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Basic Black and Watermelon Wonder
  • Stamps:  Picture Perfect (sentiment) and Work of Art
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Basic Pearls, Butterfly Thinlets

Digits

  • Cut a 3 3/8″ x 4 7/8″ piece of Thick Whisper White Cardstock.  Stamp the brush strokes in Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral and Watermelon Wonder in the center.  Add sentiment in Basic Black to right bottom corner.
  • Cut the butterfly from this layer.  Add stamped layer to notecard with dimensionals.  Add butterfly with dimensionals and Basic Pearls (nine of them) to center of butterfly.
  • Done!

Isn’t that a dramatic effect with so little work?  Love when that happens…

Now to get a surface cleared to start a project for the welcome packets for new neighbors in our little community.  We’ve had a population explosion since the first of the year and I need 20 tags by tomorrow!

Flippin’ Butterfly…

There are lots of “flippin'” cards on Pinterest in all shapes and sizes, but spring seems the perfect time to make a “flippin’ butterfly” card with the Watercolor Wings set on page 75 of the Annual Catalog…

butterflyflip1

and here’s a shot of the card open…

butterflyflip

Did you notice the butterfly stamp on the inside?  That was made by using the framelit to cut two fun foam butterflies and glue them together to use as a stamp.  It works great!  Not sure how long it will last, but as long as I have the framelit I can make another stamp.  You have got to give this a try.

Now let’s make this flippin’ butterfly card together…

Here are the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

Stuff

  • Paper:  Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Whisper White
  • Ink:  Early Espresso, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party
  • Stamps:  Watercolor Wings
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  3/8″ Pool Party Glitter Ribbon, Linen Thread, Bermuda Bay Sequins,  Fluttering Embossing Folder, Butterfly Thinlits Dies and Bold Butterfly Framelits

Digits

  • The Bermuda Bay base card is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″.  Using Bold Butterfly Framelits cut half of the butterfly on front panel.  You can accomplish this by centering the butterfly framelit over the 2 1/8″ scored line and slightly toward the top of card.  Place the top cutting pad at the 2 1/8″ score line and covering just the first panel.  You will just be cutting half of the butterfly from the card front.  Emboss front panels of card with Fluttering Embossing Folder.
  • Stamp on scrap Whisper White the base butterfly in Bermuda Bay and over stamp in Early Espresso the wings and body in center.  Cut out with Bold Butterfly Framelit fold the card closed and attach butterly to card front covering the cut out piece and second panel of card front.
  • Make bow with 3/8″ Pool Party Glitter Ribbon and tie with Linen Thread.  Cut a 2″ piece of sequins and attach to center of butterfly with glue dots.  Add bow over sequins with glue dots.
  • Stamp sentiment on scrap Whisper White in Early Espresso and punch out.  Punch out Pool Party scrap and attach behind stamped sentiment.  Add glue to half of the back of this piece and attach to first panel.
  • Inside there is a piece of Pool Party 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ attached with adhesive, and a piece of Whisper White 5 1/4″ x 4″ attached to that with adhesive.  Stamp base butterfly with Bermuda Bay.  You might want to make a pencil mark with the front butterfly down to know where to place the inside butterfly so it will be covered up when the card is closed.  With the fun foam handmade stamps from the butterfly framelit add over base butterfly in Bermuda Bay…magic!  Now add your sentiment in the center of the butterfly in Early Espresso.  Add some dots here and there in Early Espresso and a few sequins for fun!

So now this is my favorite card…until the next one.  I want to make this in some other color combinations…ideas are spinning.  And I’ve got another wow technique to share inspired by Frances Martin I’m pretty sure you will love…there are not enough hours in the day!

Got to get reset in my studio from class this morning for another one on Monday morning.  Then houseguests this week and a supper to cook for book club…all fun stuff!
