Archive for Thank You

Holiday Thanks…

There will be many thanks posted for kindnesses shown during the holiday.  Creating cards for that purpose has been on my mind and creative table lately.

If you also need this type of card, here’s an idea for you…

Wowzers!  Those colors are bright and cheery.

I love seam binding ribbon!

All kinds of texture going on in the background.

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

  • Paper:  3-1/2″ x 5″ Whisper White Notecard, plus watercolor paper
  • Ink:  Archival Basic Black, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie
  • Stamps:  Charming Cafe’ (sentiment)
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, Calypso Coral Seam Binding (retired), Linen Thread, Aqua Painter

  • The watercolor paper is 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″.  For a video showing this background being made, go to my Rambling Rose Studio Facebook page, click on video posted 12-3-17.  Sometimes just seeing t done helps.  Spritz the watercolor paper until it’s wet.  You can brush over it with an Aqua Painter or any small brush.  Add reinker color (add drops to an acrylic block or the ink pad lid and pick up with brush) with a brush and let the colors “bloom”.  Let dry.
  • Emboss the lower half of watercolor paper with Petal Pair EF.
  • Add a piece of ribbon around then fasten with SNAIL in the back.
  • Make several loops with ribbon then tie in center with Linen Thread.  Attach over ribbon band with glue dots.
  • Add watercolor piece to notecard front with Multipurpose Glue and weight down until dried.

Send your cheer-me-up note to someone on your list and make their day!

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

Come get inky with me and be HaPpY!

Heartfelt Thanks…

The result from last week’s birthday surprises is a stack of thank you cards….fun to make and written with lots of gratitude and love.

I hadn’t planned on making two colors, but a phone call distracted me and the embossing paste dried.  So I made a new batch and started over.

I love the way some of the Calypso Coral hung out on my handmade stencil and transferred with the green.

I thought the contrasting colors would really pop…and they do!

Have you tried the Embossing Paste yet?  It is simple to use and easy to clean up with a little beforehand prep.  If you are using a reuseable stencil, have a small tray of water handy to drop it in.  You can also drop the Palette Knife in there too when you’re finished.

So let’s do this…

Here are the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

  • Paper:  I used SU! 3-1/2″ x 5″ Whisper White Notecards, plus Old Olive and Pool Party Cardstock
  • Ink:  Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, Calypso Coral and Lemon Lime Twist
  • Stamps:  Oh So Eclectic
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Embossing Paste, Palette Knife, Stencil, Seasonal Layers Framelits.   If you want to use the framelit to make your own stencil you’ll need the Eclectic Layers Thinlits and watercolor paper.  Thick Whisper White CS might work.

  • The Old Olive layer is 2-7/8″ x 4-3/8″ attached with SNAIL to Whisper White notecard.
  • The Thick Whisper White layer is 2-3/8″ x 4-1/4″.  With your water tray ready, mix a small amount of Embossing Paste with your choice of reinker.  Secure stencil in place over this layer.  Apply paste over stencil like icing a cake using the palette knife.  Scrape away any extra paste.  Drop stencil and palette knife in water tray.
  • Remove stencil and let dry.  This happens quickly.
  • On scrap Thick Whisper White stamp flower in Pool Party and over stamp with line art in Tempting Turquoise or whatever color choices you have made.  Cut out with coordinating framelit.
  • Cut one stem from Seasonal Layers and one set of leaves from Eclectic Layers in Old Olive.  Add to card front with dots of multipurpose glue and weight it down with a block to dry.  You will need to trim “stem” to fit your card and flower.
  • Add flower with dimensionals.  Stamp sentiment on scrap Thick Whisper White in Tempting Turquoise and trim to 1/2″ x 1-1/2″.  Tag one end.  Add a Pool Party layer 5/8″ x 1-5/8″.  Tag one end.  Add to card front with dimensionals.
  • Then add your own sweet personal thank you…

How your Friday is going super!

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

Yay!  Let it go…

And stay inky…you’ll be HaPpY!

Thanks A Bunch…

Other than birthday, thank you cards are my biggest stack and stash of card.  You just can’t have too many thank you cards…right?

So here’s one combining some of the designer series paper from the Whole Lot of Lovely pack…

Aren’t those paper patterns striking?

and a glamour close up…

another angle to show dimension.

  • Paper:  Thick Whisper White and Pool Party Cardstock, plus Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper
  • Ink:  Archival Basic Black, Pear Pizzaz, Old Olive and Powder Pink

  • The first DSP layer is 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ attach to card front with SNAIL
  • The next vertical Pool Party layer is 2-3/8″ x 5-1/4″ attached to card front left of center with SNAIL
  • The next vertical DSP layer is 2-1/4″ x 5-1/8″ attach to Pool Party layer with SNAIL.  Tie ribbon at bottom and attach to card front with SNAIL.

Bricks & Roses…

Here comes that Floral Statement and Embossing Paste again…but this time in a pretty pink!

Roses and bricks in pretty pinks.  I want to do another using just the gray cardstock.  These colors looked great when done on gray.

A glamour close up showing the brick work and colored pencil work…

A side view to show texture…

and a peek inside…

This card was finished very much like the one on Friday with Embossing Paste and Embossing Powder along with Colored Pencils.  Lots of fun to do…hope you’ll give it a try and enjoy your results.

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for this one…

  • Paper:  Powder Pink, Rose Red, Smoky Slate and Thick Whisper White Cardstock
  • Ink:  Craft White, Powder Pink, Rose Red, Lemon Lime Twist and Old Olive markers
  • Stamps:  Floral Statements
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  White Embossing Powder, Colored Pencils, Linen Thread, Pink Ribbon, Embossing Paste, Masks and Palette Knife

  • The Powder Pink base card is 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored, folded and burnished at 5-1/2″
  • The Rose Red layer is 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″.  Add Brick mask and apply Embossing Paste with Palette Knife.  Let dry.  Clean tools immediately.
  • Stamp with Craft White Ink on Smoky Slate Cardstock, sprinkle with White Embossing Powder and heat. Give all images a coat of White Colored Pencil before adding any color.  This will keep your colors vibrant when they are added.  Color all images with a light and dark shade of a color for the rose and the leaves.  Fussy cut image.
  • Add a piece of ribbon along the bottom edge of the Rose Red layer and attach with SNAIL.  Make a bow with several loops, tie in center with Linen Thread and add to card Rose Red layer with glue dots.  Add fussy cut sentiment with dimensionals.
  • Add this layer to card front with SNAIL.
  • Inside the Rose Red layer is 4-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ attached with SNAIL.
  • Color just the small rose on the stamp with markers and add to bottom of Whisper White layer cut 3-1/8″ x 4-1/8″.  Add this layer to card with SNAIL.

Add this texture and dimension to a card is so easy and looks awesome.  If you haven’t tried it yet, I hope you will.

Have a great Tuesday!

Daisy Delight…

One of the perks of being a SU! Demo is attending events like OnStage and receiving for FREE new products from the upcoming annual catalog.  Lucky me traveled home with the Daisy Delight Bundle which consisted of the stamp set and coordinating punch.

HaPpY me!

To celebrate my good luck today’s post will feature this new stamp set with others to follow…

There is a big daisy stamp in this set, but there is also several small flowers too.  Actually, the pink ones are the big daisy centers.

Glamour close up…

Side view.

Yep it’s that bow.

And a peek inside.

Did I ever confess to you I’m a “control freak”?  Well I am.  I even like to control splatters on my pieces and that’s why I normally use the “splat” stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  Did you notice that set is retiring?  I almost fell off my chair! I will be ordering that set because the one I have is worn totally out…

Do you like this new set?  These smaller flower are just so sweet.  Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

  • Paper:  Thick Whisper White and Soft Sky Cardstock
  • Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Soft Sky, Pear Pizazz, Blushing Bride and Basic Gray
  • Stamps:  Daisy Delight
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Linen Thread, Seasonal Decorative Masks

  • The Thick Whisper White CS is 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored, folded and burnished at 5-1/2″
  • The Soft Sky layer is 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ attached to the card front with SNAIL
  • The top Thick Whisper White layer is 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Lay your mask diagonally on this layer and apply Daffodil Delight, Soft Sky and Pear Pizazz ink with brush, daubers, spritzer or brayer.  I used a brush here.  Stamp a group of stems in Pear Pizazz.  Add flowers in Soft Sky, Daffodil Delight and Blushing Bride.  I stamped off the base color first and stamped over the base full strength.  Add sentiment in Basic Gray.
  • Add splats with Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizazz markers.  Add to card front with dimensionals.
  • A video on making this Linen Thread bow can be found here.  Attach with glue dots.
  • Inside the Soft Sky layer is 3-3/8″ x 4-3/8″ with a Thick Whisper White layer 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″.  Stamp the single stem and flower in Soft Sky and Pear Pizazz.  Add some splatters with markers.  There is a corner with a small piece of masking.  The envelope was also masked and stenciled to coordinate with the card front.

My preorder of new products will be delivered tomorrow and I hope to make some samples to share with you over the weekend…so be sure to stop back by.  Tomorrow there will be an Easter post and Saturday a very special post as I will be the Guest Designer on the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop…eeekkk!!!

A couple of things I wanted to share with you…if you have ordered from me personally or online I am happy to supply you with a new annual catalog.  Also, if you haven’t looked over the retiring product list and you’d like to, go to and you will find everything listed there.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

moving forward…always.

Here’s another example…

How cute is that?

Stamping With A Framelit…

Stamping with a framelit seems impossible.  What really happened was I made a stamp using fun foam and a framelit to create a stamp that looks like this…

Pretty, right?  I’ll try to show you the Wink of Stella in another shot, but just wanted you to see the “stamp” that was used.

and the inside and dimension…

You can see there is a small piece of the water colored paper inside to coordinate with the card front.

How I wish I were a better photographer…Wink of Stella can be a stinker to photograph.  Trust me, this butterfly is so beautiful and sparkly in person.

Here are the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

  • Paper:  Thick Whisper White and Daffodil Delight Cardstock plus Water color paper.
  • Ink:  Archival Basic Black and Daffodil Delight
  • Stamps:  All Things Thanks, Touches of Texture
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Bold Butterfly Framelits, Butterflies Thinlits, Wink of Stella (Gold), Ken Oliver’s Color Burst (Amazon) and Fun Foam (Hobby Lobby)

  • Let’s color the 4″ x 6″ piece of water color paper first.  The only two colors I used were Lemon Yellow and Alizarin Crimson.  I started with the yellow and sprayed the water color paper, then added the red pigment before spritzing with water.  Let this dry well.
  • Now to make your own stamp.  Cut three butterflies from Fun Foam and glue together with multipurpose glue.  Add a small amount of glue to one side of stamp so that it will cling to your acrylic block well.

  • Stamp the new stamp on the water colored paper with Archival Basic Black ink and cut out with the Bold Butterfly Framelit.  Add the Gold Wink of Stella without going over the black ink.
  • The base Thick Whisper White card is 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored, folded and burnished at 4-1/4″
  • The Daffodil Delight layer is 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ attached to card front with SNAIL
  • The Thick Whisper White layer is 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Stamp sentiment in Archival Basic Black.  Stamp the spray of dots from Touches of Texture at bottom right corner a couple of times in Daffodil Delight.
  • Add a piece of Adhesive Strip down center of Butterfly and attach over dots at bottom right.  Add this layer to card front with SNAIL.
  • Inside there is a Daffodil Delight layer 3-3/8″ x 4-3/8″ with a Whisper White layer over that 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″.  The Touch of Texture dots stamps was used at the bottom of the Whisper White layer in Daffodil Delight.  A small strip of the water colored paper was attached across the bottom to coordinate with the card front.

Thanks for stopping in today to take a peek.  This post may give you an idea or two about how you use your framelits…

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

oh yeah.

Stay inky…be HaPpY!

All Things Thanks…

Before orders are delivered from the studio, always there is a small surprise inside each order bag to let my customers know how much they are appreciated.  For those ordering online, a small gift of thanks is in the mail…

Today’s post is just that…a thank you.

Inside is a personal note written on a Post It Note so the card can be used at a later date.

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits

  • Paper:  3-1/2″ x 5″ Whisper White Notecard and Thick Whisper White and Daffodil Delight Cardstock
  • Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Calypso Coral
  • Stamps:  All Things Thanks
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  VersaMark Ink and White Embossing Powder

  • The Daffodil Delight layer is 3-3/8″ x 4-7/8″ attached to the Whisper White Notecard with SNAIL
  • The Thick Whisper White layer is 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″.  Stamp sentiment in VersaMark centered on this piece.  Sprinkle with White Embossing Powder and heat.
  • Using a kraft mat (Amazon, 18″ x 18″) I stamped each color down on the mat several times almost touching at the center.  Spritz with water and apply cardstock.  Lift and add more color where white is showing.  You can heat to dry and reapply more color.
  • Wipe with tissue to remove any color on sentiment.
  • Add to card front with SNAIL
  • Add sequins with multipurpose glue.

These cards are put into clear envelopes and dropped into order bags.

A little something is always fun to make for my customers and I know the gift is always appreciated.

Hope you day is awesome.  I’ve been doing “housewifey” things most of the day and it feels good to be done!

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

take it to heart.

I’ll be inky…and HaPpY!

Foxy Thank You…

If you have been following along, there have been several posts related to the anticipated arrival of our newest addition to the family in March.  Today I’ll share the set of “thank you” notes made to coordinate with the theme of my g’daughter’s nursery and shower including the invitations she and I worked on together…

Using her “woodland” theme, here are the note cards…

and a close up…

I will tell you I did use the MISTI tool to stamp the sentiment and tree at the same time.  Stampin’ Up! doesn’t carry a similar tool (maybe in the future?) but it has made this project so much easier and faster not mention perfectly aligned and stamped.

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

  • Paper:  Whisper White 3-1/2″ x 5″ notecards, plus Thick Whisper White Cardstock
  • Ink:  Pear Pizazz, Archival Basic Black and Calypso Coral
  • Stamps:  Foxy Friends and All Things Thanks
  • Tools:  Micron Black .005 Pen, Window Sheet

  • Stamp the tree at lower left corner in Pear Pizazz and sentiment centered top in Archival Basic Black.
  • Cut a piece of Window Sheet 2-5/8″ x 4″.  Center this sheet over card front and mark in pencil all four corners.  Using the .005 Black Micron Pen (you could substitute the Project Life Journaling Pen) draw the loops at each corner then connect with wavy line.  Where images are met, skip the border line and start again after image.
  • Stamp fox on scrap Thick Whisper White CS in Calypso Coral and face features in Archival Basic Black.  Fussy cut the image and attach to card front overlapping the tree with dimensionals.

Hopefully I can share pictures of the occasion with you early next week.

So today is Valentines…do you have any special plans?  Sweetums and I are cooking a meal together and maybe sharing something very chocolate!

Look what is blooming in my front yard!…

These are so dainty…maybe 5″ tall.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

all.  the.  time.

And keep those fingers inky…you’ll be HaPpY!

Smile Alert!…

A whole set of Whisper White note cards were transformed into adorable, silly thank you notes…which will come in handy after Christmas and even before.  They will spread smiles near and far when opened, and my job will be done.

Here’s what they look like…

Would they put a smile on your face?  While water coloring each chickie, I couldn’t help but keep a smile on my face…and I water colored 20 of them!

Here are the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

  • Paper:  3-1/2″ x 5″ Whisper White Note Cards, Real Red Cardstock plus Water Color Paper
  • Ink:  Archival Basic Black
  • Stamps:  Hello Chick …background chicken wire stamp is retired SU! but you could substitute the current Woodgrain background stamp.
  • Tool’s ‘N Embellishments:  Water Color Pencils, 1/8″ Real Red Ribbon, Punch or Framelit shape to cut out sentiment, Stitched Square Framelits, and Scalloped Square Framelits.  I used the Ticket Punch here.  You could use an Aqua Painter, Blender Pen or small round brush for painting.

  • The 3-1/2″ x 5″ Whisper White Note Card front was stamped with chicken wire background stamp in Archival Basic Black.
  • The Real Red Cardstock was cut with the Scalloped Square Framelit and attached to card front with dimensionals.
  • The Water Color Paper was cut with the Stitched Square Framelits.  Stamp image with Archival Basic Black.  Color images with Water Color Pencils and use your choice to paint with water.  Scribble some color around feet and paint.  This “grounds” your image.  Colors I used are Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Real Re.
  • Attach Water Color Paper to Real Red Cardstock with multipurpose glue.
  • Stamp off before stamping background on scrap Whisper White CS with Archival Basic Black.  Stamp sentiment over this background and cut with shape of your choice.  Add to card front with multipurpose glue.  Make a small bow and attach at bottom corner with glue dot.

Tomorrow there will be several of these in mailboxes written with sincere thanks and hoping to bring smiles wherever they go!

We are having a frigid day here but when I see the weather up north and in the Midwest, I’ll not complain.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

decisions, decisions.

Have a HaPpY inky day!
