Here’s another interactive card that is really easy to assemble…

foxvideo

How cute is that?

with the slider closed…

with the slider open and message showing…

glamour shot for the fox…

side view…

and a peek inside.

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

Stuff

  • Paper:  Dapper Denim (because I don’t have any Pacific Point!) and Thick Whisper White Cardstock, plus Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper
  • Ink:  Real Red and Archival Basic Black
  • Stamps:  Birthday Delivery
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Birthday Friends Framelits Dies, Balloon Honeycomb Embellishments, Word Punch (retired, you can substitute Classic Label Punch), Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Urban Underground Embellishments

Digits

  • The Dapper Denim base card is 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored, folded and burnished at 4-1/4″.
  • The Thick Whisper White layer is 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″.
  • The two DSP layers are 2-1/2″ top and 2″ bottom.  Attach to Whisper White layer with SNAIL.  Using the punch, insert layer into punch as far as it will go and centered…punch.  Line up punch on right side and punch.  Repeat for left side.  You should now have an opening on the bottom of this layer for the slider.
  • Let’s make that slider…Cut a piece of Dapper Denim 1-3/4″ x 6″.  Cut a piece of DSP 1″ x 6″ and attach to center of CS with SNAIL.  Cut one end with Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  Add star from Urban Underground Embellishments at punched end.
  • Using the front layer as a pattern, draw with pencil around opening onto the Dapper Denim base card.  Cut a piece of Whisper White 1″ x 5-1/4″.  Attach this piece to the base card over the pencil tracing.  Now lay the top layer down and trace the opening again being careful to have the layer exactly where you are going to attach it and trace the opening on the Whisper White lightly.  Stamp you sentiment inside your pencil markings.  Remove pencil line with eraser.
  • Now turn over the top layer and with the slider in place, add Adhesive Strips on both sides and the end of the slider channel for a stop.  Also add strips around the top and side edges.  Remove protective paper and attach to card base.  Slide in your slider to be sure it works.  You may need to trip the straight end if the slider is too long.
  • Cut fox from DSP with Framelit Die.  Cut another fox from Whisper White and glue together with multipurpose glue.  Stamp banner in black ink on Whisper White CS.  Add sentiment in Real Red.  Cut another banner out of Whisper White and glue to back of stamped banner with multipurpose glue.
  • With slider in place add two dimensions stacked at far right of opening.  Add fox over these stacked dimensionals.  Glue sentiment banner to his paw.  Let dry.  Add balloon just to right of fox’s left shoulder.  Look what you did?  How awesome is that?
  • Inside there is a Whisper White layer 4″ x 5-1/4″.  The HB sentiment is in Real Red.  The mouse and his hat were fussy cut and added with multipurpose glue.  The strip of DSP is 1/2″ x 5-1/4″ added with SNAIL.

My experience has been that people love these interactive cards.  I hope you will give this card a try.  Once you’ve made one, you’ll duplicate it over and over.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

always.

And if you keep your fingers inky…you’ll be HaPpY!

Carousel Birthday Slider…

When I watched this video by Tanya DeRoy, I knew this slider card was going to be added to my list of favorite cards to make and give.  The step-by-step directions and photos below will help you to create this fun card.  But, if you’d like to watch Tanya’s YouTube video, you can find it here

Here’s the card…

How cute is that?  And…it is interactive.  When you pull the tap, the horse moves to reveal a birthday message.  Now I changed a few things from Tanya’s but either way it’s a fabulous card that is not gender or age specific.

Here’s a close up showing the sponging on edges and Silver Metallic embossing…

and showing the pull tab…

and a peek inside…

Let’s make this slider today…

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits

Stuff

  • Paper:  Peekaboo Peach, Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla Cardstock plus Cupcakes & Carousel Designer Series Paper Stack
  • Ink:  Early Espresso, Calypso Coral plus you choice of colors for pony
  • Stamps:  Dragonfly Dreams (sentiment), Carousel Birthday and Gorgeous Grunge (splat)
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Accent Pearl, Decorative Label Punch. Word Window Punch (retired), VersaMark Ink, Silver Embossing Powder, Sponge, water color pencils or markers for pony, Adhesive Strips and Lots of Labels Framelits

Digits

  • The Peekaboo Peach base card is 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored, folded and burnished at 4-1/4″
  • The Calypso Coral layer is 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″.
  • The top DSP layer is 2-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ and the bottom DSP layer is 2″ x 5-1/4″.   Sponge edges with Early Espresso.   Attach the bottom DSP layer first on the Calypso Coral layer with SNAIL.  Stamp circus tents across the top DSP layer in Early Espresso.  The top DSP layer overlaps the lower layer.  Slide the Word Window Punch from the bottom of this layer all the way in and centered, punch.   Slide the Word Window punch to the right and line up the side of the layer with the side of the punch and punch again.  Then slide to the left and align the same way and punch.  Your piece should look like this…

  • Using the Gorgeous Grunge splat stamp and VersaMark, stamp all over this layer, sprinkle with Silver EP and heat.
  • Lay this layer over the card front and trace the opening in pencil.  Stamp sentiment centered in the space with Early Espresso.  Let dry then erase pencil marks.
  • Lets make the slider now.  Cut a piece of Peekaboo Peach 1-1/2″ x 5-3/8″.  Cut a piece of DSP 5-5/8″ x 3/4″, sponge edges with Early Espresso.  Attach the DSP to the center of the cardstock with SNAIL.  Using Lots of Labels Framelits cut one end only…Trim the DSP if needed at straight end.

  • Turn your card front face down and position your slider over the opening.  Using Adhesive Strips make a stop at the end of the slider and add strips on each side of the slider to create a channel for the slider to move in.  Then add adhesive strips around outside edges.  You card layer back should look like this…

  • Remove slider and attach this layer to card front.  Insert slider and add double dimensionals at the stop end.  Add Pearl or anything else you have to use as a decoration at the end of the slider.
  • To make the label at the top of the card, punch one layer in Calypso Coral with Decorative Label Punch and cut in half lengthwise.  Stamp sentiment in Calypso Coral on Peekaboo Peach CS and punch.  Sponge edges with Early Espresso.  Add the Calypso Coral pieces to back of sentiment with SNAIL positioning so they show at top and bottom.  If the side center points  of the Calypso Coral layers show, trim with snips.

  • Stamp Carousel Pony on scrap Thick Whisper White.  Color with markers or water color pencils.  Coat with Fine Tipped Glue and let dry.  Fussy Cut then add to double dimensionals at end of slider.  Position so that horse will slide easily past label at top of layer.

  • Inside the card cut a Calypso Coral layer 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″.   Add the Calypso Coral layer with SNAIL.  Cut a Very Vanilla layer 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Stamp the Very Vanilla layer sentiment in Calypso Coral and the tents in Early Espresso.  Sponge all edges with Early Espresso and add layer over Calypso Coral layer using SNAIL.
  • The envelope, which I haven’t shown was also stamped with the circus tents in the lower left corner with Early Espresso.

NOTE:  You will notice this card pulls to the right.  You could make it go either direction, but it just seemed more natural to me as the pony is facing that direction.

Isn’t that just cute and clever?

Yesterday my son was here on business and we were able to sneak in a lunch date.  He’s the dad of “the littles”.  Thought you might like to meet him…

His name is Jeff and this is a rare occasion.

Mother Nature pulled a trick on our Spring-like weekend and sent cool temps with rain today.  On the bright side it makes for a great stamping day!

Have a great rest of your weekend and I hope to see you back here on Monday…

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

Keep those fingers inky…Be HaPpY!
