Customer Jar of Thanks…

As a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator showing appreciation to my customers for each order is important to me…so each time they order, I try to think of something to make for them to enjoy.  This month I’m giving each a “Jar of Thanks”…

jarofthanks

Awww…isn’t that cute?  Hopefully they will use this on the front of a card or gift, or maybe just set it up on their desk.  Just a small reminder of how much I appreciate their business…

I first saw this idea on Becky Roberts blog “Inking Idaho”.  She makes fantastic projects.  Even though she didn’t give directions, I found these fairly easy (like REALLY easy) to make.

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

Stuff

  • Paper:  Thick Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Pear Pizazz Cardstock
  • Ink:  StazOn Black, Flirty Flamingo
  • Stamps:  Jar of Love
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Linen Thread, Window Sheet, Lots of Jars Framelits, confetti (I used the hearts border punch plus some Paper Pumpkin confetti left over), but SU! does have a Confetti Punch!

Digits

  • Cut jar from Thick Whisper White for back.
  • Stamp jar in Smoky Slate on Thick Whisper White.  Cut inside of jar out with framelit.
  • Stamp handle in Smoky Slate and cut out with Framelit.
  • Stamp jar lid and flower in Flirty Flamingo on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with framelit.
  • Cut small leaf from Pear Pizazz with Framelit.
  • Stamp jar on Window Sheet with StazOn Black ink.  Cut jar from Window Sheet with framelit.  Stamp sentiment “thanks” on jar with StazOn Black ink.  Let dry.
  • Glue stamped window sheet to jar with cut out center with multipurpose glue.
  • Run strip adhesive around the back edges of jar.  Fill center with confetti of your choice, remove safety cover from adhesive strip and add jar cut in first step.
  • Glue lid to top of jar with multipurpose glue.
  • Glue handle with multipurpose glue.
  • Add leaf with glue dot and flower with dimensional.
  • Tie bow on handle with Linen Thread.

This would be a cut card front or scrapbook page feature or with a small easel added to the back it could sit up on a desk.  Oh! I just thought of something cute that can be made with these shaker jars.  Goodness, I’ve got to get back in my studio and make that…stay tuned!

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…have a great rest of the weekend and I’ll see you on Monday.

One More Jar…

It was impossible to receive my Christmas order yesterday and not make just one more jar themed card…

simplejoys1

Seriously?  How could I not…here’s a peek inside too…

simplejoys

So hope you don’t mind just one more jar and a Christmas one at that.

To tell you the truth there is so much new product in my studio that hasn’t seen ink yet, where to start is the question.  So many ideas and so little time…

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

Stuff

  • Paper:  Thick Whisper White, Pear Pizazz and Soft Sky Cardstock
  • Ink:  Pear Pizazz, Real Red, StazOn Black and Basic Black
  • Stamps:  Jar of Cheer and Birthday Banners
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Window Sheet, Linen Thread, Bunch of Banners Framelits, “snow” and Project Life Corner Rounder and Gently Falling Embossing Folder

Digits

  • The Thick Whisper White Cardstock is 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored and folded at 5-1/2″.  Round all corners
  • The Pear Pizazz layer is 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″, round corners with corner rounder and attach to card front.
  • The top Soft Sky layer is 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Cut jar upside down centered side to side and slightly toward the bottom.  Run through Big Shot with Gently Falling EF
  • Stamp jar with StazOn Black ink on a piece of window sheet 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″.  Set aside to dry.
  • Stamp jar lid in Pear Pizazz and Basic Black ink and cut out with framelit.  Add several rounds of Linen Thread.  Stamp the tree twice without reinking on a scrap Whisper White piece 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″.  Stamp holly in Basic Black and color with markers then “fussy cut”.  Stamp banner in Pear Pizzaz and sentiment in Basic Black.  Cut out with framelit.
  • Glue window sheet on back side of this layer.   Run adhesive strip around edge of jar on back of this layer.  Fill with “snow”, pull off adhesive paper and add stamped tree layer over strips.  Add oft Sky layer to card front over Pear Pizazz layer.
  • Add jar lid and holly sprig with glue.  Add banner with dimensionals.
  • Make Linen Thread bow (see video here).  Add to card front with glue dots.
  • Inside there is a Soft Sky layer 3-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ and a Whisper White layer 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″.  Round all corners.  Stamp sentiment in Basic Black centered top.  Stamp tree twice with Pear Pizazz in lower right corner.

If you plan to make a similar card and purchase your snow, I’d say these little Styrofoam balls look good and move around nicely, but boy of boy do they ever run everywhere in your studio space!

This card would not be hard to produce and does mail flat, so I’d like to make more of this design I think.

Thanks so much for stopping by today…

You Light Up My Life…

Next week “the Littles” will be here for a little over a week.  One of the summer activities they love is catching lightening bugs.  You see, they don’t seem to have them in Florida so to them it is a novelty.  Every evening they ask several times…”Is it time yet?”  I tell them there is a magic time when you can catch them.  And every night we all have stinky hands from handling lightening bugs into a jar.

In honor of that summer fun…

Here’s a detail shot…

I tried to catch the Gold Wink of Stella.  I think they will love this interactive shaker card.

With the introduction of the Adhesive Strips, making shaker cards is a walk in the park…

I can’t wait to show “the Littles” this jar of lightening bugs…maybe we won’t need to wait for that magic time and get our hands all stinky.  Fat chance!

Sugar Plum Shaker…

I’m “over the moon” with the new Stampin’ Strips…make shaker cards so easy!

shakerart

While cleaning out the paper catcher on a hole punch the other day, I collected all these cute, colorful dots and immediately thought they would make excellent material for a shaker card.  The sequins would have been nice, but these are much smaller and more colorful too.

Here are the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

Stuff

Paper:  Thick Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry Cardstock

Ink:  Sugar Plum and Basic Black

Stamps:  Playful Palette

Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Window Sheet, Sugar Plum Ruched Ribbon, Brick Wall Embossing Folder, Linen Thread, your choice of confetti and Stampin’ Strips

Digits

  • The Thick Whisper White base card is 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″
  • The Rich Razzleberry layer is 4″ x 5-1/4″.
  • The top Whisper White layer is 3-3/4″ x 5″, embossed with Brick Wall EF.  Attach this layer to the Rich Razzleberry layer with adhesive.  Add a strip of Sugar Plum Ruched Ribbon to the top of these two layers with adhesive, then to card front.
  • Make loops with ribbon and tie center with Linen Thread.  Attach to card front with glue dots.
  • Stamp the artist’s easel from Playful Palette on Whisper White with Sugar Plum ink and “fussy cut”.  Cut a piece of Window Sheet 2-1/4″ square and attach to back side of easel.
  • Cut a piece of scrap Whisper White 2-1/4″ square.  Stamp brush stroke stamp in Sugar Plum ink three times without reinking.  Stamp sentiment in Basic Black.  Add Stampin’ Strips around edge of square, place confetti inside and place “fussy cut” easel on top.  Add to card front with multipurpose glue.
  • Inside there is a layer of Rich Razzleberry 3-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ with a layer of Whisper White over it 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″.  Stamp the brush stroke inside like the card front and add sentiment about birthday in Basic Black over the brush strokes.

Isn’t that a fun and interactive card.  I love those little tiny dots in there…

Expression of Love…

One of “the littles”, my granddaughter Lyla who just turned nine, will emphatically tell you she is an artist…and she definitely is.  As we create our paper, ink and stamp pieces we too should be just as emphatic about our artistic status.  There are artists of every kind…we just happen to create with our own media.  Just sayin’…

Today’s post is another sneak peek at new product available June 1st from the new Stampin’ Up! catalog…

2halloween

This was a fun and pretty quick card to put together and “the littles” will probably get this in their next package with some Halloween goodies, too!

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

Stuff

  • Paper:  Thick Whisper White, Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie cardstock, plus Happy Haunting DSP and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper
  • Ink:  Memento Ink, Pumpkin Pie
  • Stamps:  Sparkly Seasons, Howl-O-Ween Treet
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Rhinestones, Seasonal Frame Thinlets, Window Sheet, Black Glitter, Fine Tip Glue Pen

Digits

  • The Thick Whisper White base card is 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
  • The Basic Black layer is 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
  • The DSP layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″ also cut a piece of fun foam the same size as DSP layer.  Then punch these two layers with circle thinlet.  Attach a 3″ x 3″ piece of window sheet twith Tombow Glue to back of DSP layer to cover circular opening.
  • Stamp the chevron patterned circle with Pumpkin Pie ink on the Pumpkin Pie cardstock and add face stamp in Memento Black.
  • Cut out with same circular thinlet.
  • Add the fun foam to the back of the DSP layer, add black glitter.  Add Tombow Glue to back of pumpkin circle and lay over opening.  Add Tombow Glue to back of fun foam and lay Basic Black layer over top of everything.  This should seal the face in place and the glitter inside.  Yay!
  • Add these layers to card base with glue.
  • Stamp the globe base in Memento Black on Pumpkin Pie cardstock and “fussy cut”.  Add Rhinestones to front and dimensionals to back to attach to card front.
  • Stamp Witch Hat in Memento Black on Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  Add Rhinestones to stars.  Stamp the hat partially on Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  Color just the band with purple permanent marker or if you still have Blendabilities like I do, you can use that.  Add to hat with Tombow Glue and the hat to the card base with dimensionals.
  • Cut the “spooky” from Basic Black and using Fine Tip Glue Pen add to bottom of card front.  I have also “painted” the word with the same glue pen to make it shiny.  I love bling!

Hope you’ll give this one a try…it’s really cute!
