Down the Rabbit Hole…

WE HAVE A BABY!!!

Everybody loves bunnies this time of the year.  I actually sent a video of two baby bunnies munching on snacks to my daughter-in-love and asked if “the littles” could have a bunny for Easter.  Her response was emphatic…and negative!

So I will content myself with these cute bunnies jumping into their rabbit holes as thank yous to my peeps this month…

How cute is that?

and they multiplied!

Those rosebuds were so popular (I loved them) and I have hoarded them all this time.  They were spritzed with Blushing Bride…

Would you like one of these notecards?  I’d be happy to send you one to thank you for your online order.  Just click the “shop now” star in the right column and shop to your heart’s content!

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for this one…

Stuff

  • Paper:  3-1/2″ x 5″ Whisper White Notecard, Blushing Bride, Thick Whisper White and Basic Black Cardstock
  • Ink:  None!
  • Stamps:  None!
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Scalloped Squares Framelits, Stitched Circle Framelits, Oval and Small Oval Punch, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (retired).  You could substitute a cotton ball or white pom-pom for his tail if you didn’t hoard the roses like I did

Digits:

  • Cut Blushing Bride Scalloped Square from Blushing Bride and emboss with your choice of EF.  Add to top front of notecard with multipurpose glue or SNAIL
  • Cut the larger Stitiched Circle from Basic Black with Framelit and add to card front with multipurpose glue
  • Cut the smaller circle using Stitched Circle Framelits and Thick Whisper White CS.  Add over Basic Black circle with dimensionals.
  • Punch two Thick Whisper White ovals with Oval Punch (or framelits if you have those) and two Blushing Bride ovals using the Small Oval Punch (or framelit).  Glue the smaller oval on top.  Add “toes” with Basic Black Marker.  Use multipurpose glue to add feet to white circle.
  • Add tail of your choice…I’m smiling as I type this!

I have traveled to Seiverville, TN to attend a retreat with Jackie Bultje (The Pampered Stamper) and will return tomorrow with all the excitement of the weekend.  Be sure to stop by tomorrow!

Bonjour Beautiful…

Those water color pencils were calling my name again today…in addition to a new stamp set that will be introduced in the Occasions Catalog in January…

bonjour

This stamp set was designed by a fellow demonstrator and the whole set is stunning.  Each stamp is so well designed and gives you a detailed European/Mediterranean scene.  You could create a set of note cards with different scenes (which is what I plan to do).

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits on this card…

Stuff

  • Paper:  3-1/2″ x 5″ Whisper White Notecard, Melon Mambo and Basic Black Cardstock, plus water color paper.
  • Ink:  Archival Basic Black (important when you are using water)
  • Stamps:  Mediterranean Moments and Happy Happenings (sentiment)
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  SU! Watercolor Pencils, Sticky Strips, Small Round Paint Brush

Digits

  • To the front of a 3-1/2″ x 5″ Whisper White notecard, add a layer of Melon Mambo 3-3/8″ x 4-7/8″ with SNAIL
  • The Basic Black layer is 3-1/8″ x 4-5/8″ attached to the Melon Mambo layer with Sticky Strips
  • The Water color layer is 3″ x 4-1/2″.  Stamp image and sentiment in Archival Basic Black.  Use SU! Water Color Pencils to color and then go over each color with small round paint brush and water.  Let dry then add to Basic Black layer with multipurpose glue.

This seemed to be a good card to end the week with.  One more week of Market creations to finish so I will be busy this week in addition to a class on Monday and of course, Thanksgiving this week too!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you are having an awesome weekend!

Just A Note…

The Floral Boutique Suite on pages 76 and 77 of the new catalog took my breath.  How gorgeous is that?  And that Designer Series Paper…seriously?  There will be many, but here’s my first post with this set…

floralboutique1

Here’s a closer shot of the envelope and notecard…

floralboutique

So I made a set of six and then placed them in a coordinating box…

floralboutique2

I’m thinking this would be a great gift for so many occasions…birthday, Christmas, showers.  And I know the DSP leads us to use the color Night of Navy or Dapper Denim, but can you see this in Flirty Famingo or Peekaboo Peach?  Oh my goodness…I’ve got to get busy.

The note card is pretty straightforward, but I’ll give you dimensions on the box too.  Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

Stuff

  • Paper:  Whisper White and Dapper Denim Cardstock, plus Floral Boutique DSP
  • Ink:  Dapper Denim
  • Stamps:  Floral Phrases and Flourishing Phrases
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Solid Night of Navy Baker’s Twine

Digits

  • The notecard is Dapper Denim 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ with a Thick Whisper White layer 5-1/4″ x 4″ stamped with Dapper Denim ink at top and bottom and attached with multipurpose glue.  Make six.
  • The envelope is stamped on the left side in Dapper Denim.  Make six.
  • The box is made from Thick Whisper White Cardstock and cut 6-1/2″ x 10″.  On 6-1/2″ side score at 1″ and 5-1/2″.  On the 10″ side score at 6″ and 7″.  Cut tabs to first score line.  Burnish all score lines.  Use tear tape to assemble.  The inside of your box should measure 4-1/2″ x 6″ with a 3″ cover flap.
  • Cut (2) 7/8″ x 5-7/8″ DSP strips for sides.  Cut (2) 7/8″ x 4-3/8″ DSP strips for top and bottom edges.  Attach with multipurpose glue.  Cut a piece of DSP 4-3/8″ x 2-7/8″ for the front.  Stamp Floral in Dapper Denim on scrap Whisper White and “fussy cut”.  Glue to front flap with dimensionals.
  • Add several rounds of Baker’s Twine and tie in front.
  • Your box is done.  Place in a cello bag with some “grass” in the bottom and tie the top with ribbon.  Add a “for you” tag and decide who the lucky recipient will be!

So are you enjoying your weekend?  We have hit 100 degrees here today.  I do not enjoy this weather.  This week has been getting up at 6 a.m. to get my walk in before the sun is up.  Ugh!  I have to bring Zoe home a third of the way because she has little short legs and it must be extra hot next to the pavement for her.

We REALLY need rain here too.  Too much in one place and not nearly enough in another…so it goes!  End of whining…

Heart Smiles…

Today’s notecard is simple but striking…and I do love this sentiment…

tonenotecard

This was created on toned sketch paper that come in a pad by Strathmore.  You could use Crumb Cake cardstock instead, I just like showing the binding strip for some interest.

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

Stuff

  • Paper:  3 1/2″ x 5″ Whisper White notecard, Early Espresso cardstock and Strathmore Toned Sketch paper
  • Ink:  Early Espresso and Basic Black
  • Stamps:  Suite Sayings (sentiment) and Birthday Blooms and Gorgeous Grunge (of course!)
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Linen Thread and watercolor pencils

Digits

  • The Early Espresso layer is 3 3/8″ x 4 7/8″ attached to card front with adhesive
  • The sketch paper is 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″.  Stamp the bloom in Basic Black and the sentiment in Early Espresso.  Using watercolor pencils white, light gray and black; start by coloring the bloom in white.  Go back and shade with the gray and then last add the black where you want the shadows darkest.  Don’t fuss with it.  Add some shading at the base of the flower so it isn’t floating in space and then add some Gorgeous Grunge splats in Early Espresso.  Add to Early Espresso layer with adhesive.
  • Wrap these two layers with Linen Thread and then add to card front with adhesive.

I loved sitting and working with this type card and technique and thinking a set of these with different sentiments would make a great hostess gift or small gift for any occasion.

Hope you are planning a weekend of whatever makes you the happiest.  I will be having classes which does make me very happy!

Come Let’s Sit…

and drink coffee.  Are you as crazy about this set as I am?  When we were given the Occasion Catalog at the Tampa OnStage event, this set said “Hello” to me big time…and it hasn’t disappointed.

and the inside…

This notecard and several others were made for order “thank you’s” this month and I’m pretty sure they will be a hit.  Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

Stuff

  • Paper:  3 1/2″ x 5″ Whisper white notecard, Thick Whisper White cardstock and Birthday Bouquet DSP
  • Ink:  Basic Black and Smoky Slate
  • Stamps:  Balloon Celebration (sentiment)
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Cups & Kettle Framelits, Have a Cuppa Embellishments, Calypso Coral Baker’s Twine, Aqua Painter

Digits

  • The Birthday Bouquet DSP layer is 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″.  On the Score Board at the short side, score at the 1 5/8″ mark (center) down 2″ and cut with snips.  Fold back and attach to the notecard front with adhesive.  You may need a glue dot or a small amount of adhesive under the flaps to hold them secure.
  • Stamp the sentiment on the notecard with Basic Black ink where the DSP is folded back.
  • Cut a piece of fun foam with the cup, then cut a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock with the same cup framelit.  Use Tomboy glue to put them together.  With an Aqua Painter and a small amount of Smoky Slate squeezed into the ink pad lid, paint the inside rim at the top of the cup and a shadow between the bowl and stand of the cup. “Fussy Cut” one of the big pink roses from the DSP and add to the cup with Tomboy glue.  Add the cup to the left side of the notecard with Tomboy glue.  Cut a piece of Baker’s Twine and thread through teapot and then tie to cup handle making a bow.
  • Inside use the small cup framelit to cut a cup from the DSP.  Use your Aqua Painter and Smoky Slate again to paint an inside rim on the cup and a little around the base to “ground” the cup…you don’t want it floating in the air.

Hope you enjoyed seeing this sweet notecard today and it has inspired you to create a masterpiece of your own.

Sweetums and I arrived home this morning at 3:30 a.m. from Florida where I attended my sister’s memorial service and then spent a few days with “the littles”.  It feels wonderful to be back home even if we do miss them so much.

Goodbye…

Busy weekend around here getting ready for classes this week….plus a luncheon with friends here on Saturday.

It all happens at once doesn’t it?

Today’s class was a doozie (I’ll explain in another post) and lots of announcements about new catalogs next month and LOTS of new products to be excited about.

But in all the excitement, there are many favorites that will be retiring.

Today’s stamp set is one of them…

We will bid farewell with this handy thank you note…

Thank you notes are big around here and I keep a box full at all times…so this will definitely be a welcome addition to my collection for mailing.
