Merry Quilted…

These little pizza sized boxes are awesome!  They are so easy to decorate and the inside is coated perfectly for Christmas treats.

Just couldn’t resist making one with the Christmas Quilt suite…

The green sprigs and miniature ornament fit perfectly!

And inside are 3″ x 3″ note cards with envelopes.

The inside lid seemed the best place to add a holiday message.  I can see a lot of these in my future…

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you in case you see these little gift boxes in your future too…

We are enjoying the rain again today (we really needed rain) and cool temperatures.  It seems to make both furbabies sleepy…all they do is nap!

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

a good reminder with all the name calling these days.

Come get inky with me…Be HaPpY!

Foxy Thank You…

If you have been following along, there have been several posts related to the anticipated arrival of our newest addition to the family in March.  Today I’ll share the set of “thank you” notes made to coordinate with the theme of my g’daughter’s nursery and shower including the invitations she and I worked on together…

Using her “woodland” theme, here are the note cards…

and a close up…

I will tell you I did use the MISTI tool to stamp the sentiment and tree at the same time.  Stampin’ Up! doesn’t carry a similar tool (maybe in the future?) but it has made this project so much easier and faster not mention perfectly aligned and stamped.

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

  • Paper:  Whisper White 3-1/2″ x 5″ notecards, plus Thick Whisper White Cardstock
  • Ink:  Pear Pizazz, Archival Basic Black and Calypso Coral
  • Stamps:  Foxy Friends and All Things Thanks
  • Tools:  Micron Black .005 Pen, Window Sheet

  • Stamp the tree at lower left corner in Pear Pizazz and sentiment centered top in Archival Basic Black.
  • Cut a piece of Window Sheet 2-5/8″ x 4″.  Center this sheet over card front and mark in pencil all four corners.  Using the .005 Black Micron Pen (you could substitute the Project Life Journaling Pen) draw the loops at each corner then connect with wavy line.  Where images are met, skip the border line and start again after image.
  • Stamp fox on scrap Thick Whisper White CS in Calypso Coral and face features in Archival Basic Black.  Fussy cut the image and attach to card front overlapping the tree with dimensionals.

Hopefully I can share pictures of the occasion with you early next week.

So today is Valentines…do you have any special plans?  Sweetums and I are cooking a meal together and maybe sharing something very chocolate!

Look what is blooming in my front yard!…

These are so dainty…maybe 5″ tall.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

all.  the.  time.

And keep those fingers inky…you’ll be HaPpY!

Graduation Gift…

What a glorious Easter weekend…warm sunshine, full moon and flowers popping out everywhere.

But today it is raining and I have retreated to my favorite spot for some planning and creating.

Lots of planning and not much creating so far.

There will be lots of occasions coming up…graduations, weddings, birthdays.

One graduation in particular was on my mind so this happened…

and all packaged up it looked like this…

Even the box is handmade!  These notes were made using SU! notecards which I find to be excellent quality paper.  I confess to using the MISTI to mass produce this set of cards which saved me time and money and gave me perfect alignment every time.

Haven’t heard of the MISTI?  You can google it or go to YouTube and search for it.  It is an amazing stamping tool.

Do you have lots of occasions popping up this spring and summer?  Let’s plan ahead together and get them covered with some beautiful handmade gifts.

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you on this one which could also serve as a wedding shower gift for the bride’s thank you notes or a wedding gift with her new initial…

  • Paper:  SU! Whisper White notecards and DSP to match your choice of colors (envelope liner), Crumb Cake cardstock and Window Sheet (box)
  • Ink:  Mossy Meadow, Pear Pizazz, Lost Lagoon
  • Stamps:  Sophisticated Serifs and Your Perfect Day and Gorgeous Grunge and Crazy About You  (tag)
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  3/8″ satin ribbon…(What? no pearls, no linen thread?)

  • Line your envelopes with your choice of DSP to match your color choices
  • Stamp the wreath twice with a little offset in Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizazz
  • Add your letter choice in Lost Lagoon, then the small leaf to the left side of the initial
  • Inside the card I used Crazy About You set to say Graduation Thanks
  • Don’t forget your personalized stamp on the back of the notecard.
  • The box is made from window sheets and Crumb Cake cardstock and measures 8 1/2″ x 7 1/2″
  • Score 1 1/2″ on all sides, cut tabs to first score line, burnish with bone folder, add sticky tape to tabs and place inside box and fold up side all four sides.
  • Cut, score and attach the same way for the window sheet for the top of the box.

Well…there’s one occasion and gift ready for next month…but my list is just a little longer than that.  So I’ll be giving you more ideas in the days to come.

Be sure to stop by for a little inspiration and planning.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

Well…there you go!

Let’s get inky together…and Be HaPpY!

Lotus Bloom Times Three…

Remember I’ve said many times my favorite stamping technique is masking?  Today is an example.  I love this stamp.  I mean who would ever think of making a three-step stamp with shadows of a flower?  So…if you love an image, make more of them!  Here’s my card…

And this is a notecard not a full-sized greeting card.  This is a gorgeous stamp and FREE, too!

Here are the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

  • Paper:  3 1/2″ x 5″ Whisper White notecard (SU!), Birthday Bash Specialty DSP
  • Ink:  Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Pool Party, Pear Pizzaz and Memento Black
  • Stamps:  Lotus Blossom
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Linen Thread and Best Day Ever Accessory Pack

  • The DSP layer is 3 3/8″ x 4 7/8″
  • The Whisper White layer is 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″
  • Stamp the center flower first.
  • Stamp the flower image on a piece of copy paper and “fussy cut” just inside the line of the image.
  • Place a little adhesive on the back of the copy paper.  Take some of the sticky off with your finger and then cover your first stamped bloom.
  • Now stamp your two other flowers and remove the mask.  Oh Yes!  It is magic…
  • Stamp your stems.  I usually stamp off on the solid stem and then stamp the textured stem in full ink.  Gives a little dimension.
  • Now stamp your sentiment in Memento Black.
  • Criss-cross tie your linen thread around the Whisper White layer.  Add button with glue dots.
  • Layer the Whisper White layer over the DSP.
  • Add the combined layers to the card front with dimensionals.

Nice, quick and so pretty.  Have you gotten this FREE set yet?

On my walk today I saw a beautiful American Bald Eagle who has been hanging around the golf course here and feeding from the ponds.  Today I just happened to have my phone with me and got this shot before he flew away…

I know it’s not the best shot, but it is so thrilling to see him/her each time.  It may not look like it in this shot, but this is a BIG bird!  Its wingspan is amazing in flight.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

Hope your day is bright and cheery…thanks for stopping by!
