Golden Anniversary…

Because several of my best friends we also my best friends in school, golden anniversaries are popping up this year.  How amazing is that…and wonderful?

In anticipation of those events and because Stampin’ Up! currently has the perfect Designer Series Paper, Thinlit Dies and stamp sets, making cards for these friends will be a snap.

Here’s today’s design…

and a close up…

and a peek inside…

And even though this card is for a golden anniversary it would also be perfect for an engagement or wedding card.

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

  • Paper:  Sahara Sand and Very Vanilla Cardstock
  • Ink:  Sahara Sand
  • Stamps:  So In Love
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  So Detailed Thinlits Dies, Basic Pearls, 5/8″ Gold Satin Ribbon, 1-1/4″ Circle Punch and 1/8″ Circle Punch

  • The Sahara Sand card cover is 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.  Cut two of the flower dies from Sahara Sand.  Score 1/8″ on straight side of each die cut.  Add small amount of multipurpose glue and attach to back of card cover folding the die cut to the front.  Add Basic Pearls to some of the flower centers.
  • Cut the inside of the Very Vanilla card 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Stamp border at bottom with Sahara Sand using three different stamps from So In Love.  Stamp sentiment at top in Sahara Sand.

That has to be one of the most beautifully simple cards I’ve ever made.  Makes a statement in person!

Is everybody doing their “HaPpY” Friday dance?  Me too!  This is a great day as my son, Jeff (father of “the littles”) is in town for business and we are meeting for lunch.  I’ll try to get a pic of him for tomorrow’s post so you can meet him.

Hope you have fun plans for the weekend…we are having a spring weather weekend.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

tap, tap, tap.

Be HaPpY…get inky!

Golden Anniversary…

It’s somewhat unusual these days…a couple staying together 50 years.  So when that happens in my life, it’s the perfect opportunity to make them a special card to celebrate the occasion.

This new stamp set (releasing in January 2017) called “So in Love” along with the coordinating So Detailed Thinlits Dies was my choice for today’s post…

This whole suite of coordinating products on pages 50 – 52 is awesome.  (If you need a catalog, leave me a message)  I mean, SU! thought of everything!  Now I’m using this card for an anniversary, but it would so make the perfect wedding card or Valentine’s.

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

  • Paper:  Very Vanilla Cardstock, Gold Foil and Falling in Love Designer Series Paper
  • Ink;  VersaMark
  • Stamps:  So in Love
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Very Vanilla 1/4″ Satin Ribbon, Falling in Love Embellishments, Linen Thread, So Detailed Thinlits and Gold Embossing Powder

  • The Very Vanilla base card is 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored, folded and burnished at 4-1/4″

Love Birds…

Sometimes I’m asked my favorite stamping technique.  It’s masking!  Absolutely my favorite out of all the techniques out there.  Why?  It’s magic…

Today’s card post is inspired by Kelly Acheson.  Her card was done in red, black and white maybe for Valentine’s…but, I needed a golden anniversary card so I switched it up and here is what I came up with…

Isn’t this perfect for a wedding or anniversary?  With the gold embossing and gold foil it makes a perfect golden wedding anniversary card.  But, you know you could make this for a wedding in all black, white and silver and then use the colors of the wedding for the birds.  There are so many options…and my mind wanders (as usual).

So would you like to have the Stuff ‘N Digits for this card?  Here you go…

  • Paper:  Whisper White cardstock and Gold Foil Paper
  • Ink:  Lost Lagoon,  VersaMark, Crumb Cake
  • Stamps:  Seasonally Scattered and World of Dreams
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  5/8″ Gold Satin Ribbon, Gold  and Early Expresso Embossing Powders, Crystal Effects and Decorative Dots Embossing Folder

  • The base Whisper White card is 11″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 5 1/2″
  • The Gold Foil layer is 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
  • The top Whisper White layer is 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″
  • Emboss the Gold Foil layer and attach to card front
  • I used Washi tape to mask the edges of the top layer before sponging the edges in a circular motion with Crumb Cake, but you could also use painter’s tape.
  • Stamp the Love stamp at the bottom of the masked area with VersaMark and sprinkle with gold embossing powder and heat
  • Stamp the birds and next stamp in VersaMark and sprinkle with Early Express embossing powder and heat
  • Stamp the birds on scrap cardstock in Lost Lagoon and “fussy cut”.
  • Tie a knot in the center of a piece of gold satin ribbon and attach the ends to the back.
  • Attach Lost Lagoon birds with a piece of a dimensional.
  • Attach this whole layer to card with dimensionals.
  • Cover the birds only with Crystal Effects and let dry (maybe even over night to be sure)

Pretty sure this card will be made again and again…especially with Valentine’s coming up.  Hope this post has inspired so ideas for you too.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

No problem here…usually covered with Dazzling Diamonds anyway.

I’m inky…really! and HaPpY!
