Amy’s Birthday Surprise…

My daughter-in-love’s birthday was yesterday so I waited to show you this project today so I wouldn’t ruin her surprise in the mail…

Wish I had thought to retake this with the photos I had of them inserted.  They were taken at Thanksgiving of their entire family including the new puppy…a French Bulldog named Stitch.  And I loved the saying included on the mat of this frame.  This frame measures 8″ x 23″ and was purchased at Hobby Lobby.

Here’s a close up of the flowers created with the Botanical Builder Framelits…

Selecting colors is the hardest part of this project I think.  I wanted colors to coordinate with the colors of the mat and copy, but I also wanted the colors to go with her home décor.  They live in Florida so all the foliage and flowers are perfect.

Once you’ve decided on your color palette, cut twice as many of everything in all your colors (including white) that you think you will need including leaves.  You can save your leftovers for other projects…they come in handy!

Stamp and sponge the leaves and flowers that will need it all at one time.

Now you’ve got everything ready and you can relax and enjoy creating your “garden” at the top left and lower right corners.

The leaves were mostly mounted with Tombow Glue or glue dots right to the glass.  The flowers were built with glue dots and dimensionals.  Once your flower layers are all put together, place them on the glass with dimensionals in a formation that pleases your eye.  You just can’t mess us with these flowers…

Once the photos were in it was really cute.  She’s lucky to get it cause I almost kept it!

Hope your Tuesday has gone well so far.  Be sure to stop back by tomorrow.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

Pretty Rose Pin…

So at Leadership I wore a different colored cardstock rose each day thinking it would further my “branding” for Rambling Rose Studio.  I had no idea the interest it would create.  Here’s a sample of one of them…

Promises were made to many that I would film a video on how I made these, so I’m honoring that today.  Hope you enjoy and make a garden of roses to compliment your spring wardrobe…

Great News &New Video…

This is a great little video from SU! on making flowers with filter paper.  Several of my customers have purchased the filter paper and this will give you all an idea of how to use it in a different way.  Here’s the video…

Isn’t that cute?  You could use these flowers in so many ways other than on gifts…like a wreath, a little box of flowers, and in a shadow box.  I love you can spritz them any color so they will match your project perfectly.

Great news…I had a new person join SU! under me today!  How exciting is that?  Welcome aboard Billie Rose (can you believe her name is Billie, too?) We look forward to playing (ahem?) working with you.

I’ll be back tomorrow with a project using the new stamp set Choose Happiness…one of my favorites.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…”You are free to chose, but you are not free from the consequences of your choice.”

Believe me I’m inky…but real Happy!
