March weather is fickle…one day it’s spring.

The next day is winter.

It’s maddening.

So let’s create together.

This week’s challenge at Can you Case It ( is a Designer’s Choice.  You can do that.  Make your favorite type of card and post it by Friday at noon.  Winners are announced and badges are awarded.  Be brave my little peep!

Happy, Hoppy Easter…

This little card today is one that will be made in a beginner’s stamping class this week.  Love this “For Peeps Sake” set and I hope they will love making this sweet Easter card…

Should have taken a shot of the inside with the “Happy, Hoppy Easter” sentiment and the eggs at the bottom.  A little embossing and a sweet punched flower for a little pizazz.

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

  • Paper:  Whisper White notecard and Pool Party and Calypso Coral cardstock
  • Ink:  Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight, Soft Sky, Calypso Coral and Pear Pizazz markers
  • Stamps:  For Peeps Sake
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Perfect Polka Dots EF, Basic Pearls, Itty Bitty Flower Punch, Ovals Framelits

  • The Pool Party layer is 3 3/8″ x 4 7/8″
  • Cut the oval in the center of the Pool Party layer then run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dot EF
  • Color the stamp with markers, huff on the stamp to be sure it is still moist before stamping on center of Whisper White notecard.  You can lay the Soft Sky layer down for placement if you need to.
  • Attach Soft Sky layer with dimensionals
  • Punch flower and attach with glue dot and add Basic Pearl
  • Inside stamp “Happy Hoppy Easter” colored with markers at top and color eggs with markers and add to bottom of page.
  • I did add small black dots with marker for their eyes.  You could color in their beaks too if you wanted.

This will be the first of three projects for this class, each getting a little more stamping and techniques in.  Here’s hoping they like it…

We have spring weather today and I’m going out with my top down even if I have to turn on the seat heaters!

Easter Happiness..

Does this little dancing bunny make you as happy as it makes me?  He danced his way right onto this Easter card…

See…you are smiling!  He just makes you happy doesn’t he?  This card was actually pretty fast to put together…

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

  • Paper:  Soft Sky and Whisper White cardstock plus cardstock Vellum
  • Ink:  VersaMark and various Blendability Pens
  • Stamps:  Happy Easter Bunny (single stamp)
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  White Seam Binding, Linen Thread, White Embossing Powder, Ovals Framelits and Artisan Embellishment Kit

  • The 4 1/4″ x 11″ Soft Sky cardstock is scored at 5 1/2″
  • The Whisper White Oval is cut with the third from largest Oval Framelit
  • Stamp with VersaMark and sprinkle with White Embossing Powder and heat from the back of the Vellum sheet.
  • With your choice of Blendability Pens color stamped image from back of Vellum
  • Place your Vellum with glue dots across the top to the Soft Sky cardstock
  • With adhesive wrap the White Seam Binding around the top.  Make a bow and attach with glue dot.
  • Make the Linen Thread bow and place on top of seam binding with glue dot
  • With Tombow glue on the back of your Whisper White oval, lay on card front behind stamped image.  If you need to you can place a glue dot behind the tail of the bunny or anywhere on the stamped image so it will not show from the front.
  • Trim around your rose and place on the bunny’s tail.

I just love this soft sweet card for Easter.  I’ve made a couple more cards with this stamp that are not Easter cards that I will share with you in the next couple of days.  Seriously cute!

So this is what happened here last night…

Now I live in Tennessee and this is quite unusual for us to get this much snow.  I was so excited and called the “littles” who live in St. Petersburg, Fl to show them the snow fall.  They are six and seven and have never seen snow so they were just as excited as me.  I told them I’d make them an Olaf snowman and send them a photo today.  So….

I rolled and patted and lifted and sculpted.  The neighbor kids came by to help me too and this is what was born from the snow…

Ha!  Now we just have to hope he doesn’t melt…  Sweetum’s and I spent most of the morning walking and enjoying the beautiful hand of nature.  Here are some pretty shots (in case you’ve had lots of snow, you may not want to see any of this)…

Bird food…

The creek was quite swollen…

Can you see the kids sledding down the golf course fairway?

Of course, Zoe had to go too and she  couldn’t walk in the snow so she hopped straight up and down to move.  She was exhausted when we got home.

This afternoon as I write this post, Olaf is leaning at 30% and I don’t think Elsa will show up to save him either.  Good thing I got those photos…

Hope your day is awesome…

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

This was a beautiful snow but I’ll be just as happy to see it melt (Olaf too) and spring get here pronto.

Irresistible Easter Bunny…

Hopefully next month when the Easter Bunny arrives the weather will be more spring-like.  We are close to negative temps here in the south and we are not used to that.  Can you say freezing?

Looking at all that is going on in the northeast, I’m feeling guilty even complaining.  So, I’m looking forward to spring and warmer temps and have made this cute little framed piece for one of my “littles”.

Awwww…isn’t that the sweetest?  Want the Stuff ‘N Digits?  Here you go…

  • Paper:  Painted Blooms (background) and Irresistibly Yours DSP (FREE in the Sale-A-Bration Catalog)
  • Ink:  Blushing Bride and Lost Lagoon
  • Stamps:  Sophisticated Serifs
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  The frame is from the April ’14 Paper Pumpkin and is still available, Tissue Paper (flower), Linen Thread, Crystal Button, Hello Thinlits, Smallest Oval Framelit, Build A Bouquet Die and Small Oval Punch

  • The background paper is 4″ x 4″
  • Stamp name in Lost Lagoon.  If your name is too long for the frame, try using monogram initials instead.
  • Sponge Blushing Bride ink over a piece of the Irresistibly Yours paper.
  • Cut bunny body with smallest Oval Framelit.
  • Cut 4 pieces with the small Oval Punch
  • Attach ears and feet with glue dots.
  • Cut three of the small flower on the Build A Bouquet Die with three layers of tissue paper.  Glue together and “squish”  to make the bloom more dimensional.
  • Glue crystal button and then linen thread bow inside flower.
  • Add the stamped background paper to the inside of the frame.
  • With glue dots add the bunny to the glass outside of the frame.
  • Cut the “hello” from the resist DSP and add with glue dots.

This took no time at all to put together and I know she will love this on the shelf over her desk for Easter.

So tomorrow is Valentines.  It will be so cold here we decided to cook filets and celebrate by cooking the meal together and sharing some wine.  Sounds great to me!  Hope you have an awesome Valentine’s too…

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

A Lil’ Easter Basket…

When I was in Tucson at a Demo Retreat, Sue Parker gave me the cutest box with coffee containers as a gift (Thank you Sue!).  I loved it!  Because I had to flatten the box to get it packed inside my suitcase I used the flattened box,  measured and cut and came up with an Easter treat box.  Here’s the lil’ box…

Can you think of so many ways to make and decorate this box?  Can you see just barely there is a handle punched in the back in the center?  Once you have the measurements its pretty fast to put together.  This lil’ box would hold tea light candles, “Mr. & Mrs.” cellophane bags with treats for a wedding thank you gift or shower, and well, there’s got to be all sorts of baby things that would work.  You see how my mind goes nuts with ideas?  Would you like to give it a try?  Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits

  • Paper:  Sahara Sand cardstock and Sweet Sorbet (did you hoard any?) DSP
  • Ink:  Pool Party and Daffodil Delight
  • Stamps:  Petite Petals and Flower Shop
  • Tools and Embellishments:  Petite Petal Punch, Pansy Punch, Oval Punch, Pearl, Linen Thread, Seam Binding Ribbon and circle framelit

  • Sahara Sand Cardstock is 7″ x 10″.
  • Score short end at 1 1/2″ and 5 1/2″
  • Score long side at 3/4″, 2 3/4″, 4 3/4″ and 6 3/4″.  On long sides cut score line to first score line.
  • On 3/4″ score end cut away small rectangle at each side to form a tab.  Opposite end cut away long rectangle on each side and punch with Oval Punch to create handle.
  • With circle framelit cut two circles from the panel next to the 3/4″ tab.  It’s a good ideas for a perfect box to angle the sides on your box side tabs before folding together.
  • Add sticky strip to the 3/4″ tab and last side tab to fold over.  There’s your box!
  • Decorate with your choice of DSP.  The end panels are 1 3/4″ x 1 3/4″.  The front and back panels on the box are 1 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ and the one at the top handle is 1 1/4″ x 3 1/2″
  • Stamp and punch your flower and add the pearl before adhering with dimensionals.

I know this is a long description, but think of it like a recipe and just finish one step at a time and you will be successful.  Even if you mess up, you’ll learn what not to do and the next one will be much easier.  Believe me I mess up plenty…but I always learn something, too!

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…”Life is like a camera.  Just focus on what’s important and capture the good times, develop from the negatives and if things don’t turn out…just take another shot!”

Inky fingers will make you happy…
