2017 April – Calendar

Seriously…you didn’t think this calendar was going to be completed without these cute little chicks, did you?

April seemed the most appropriate month to add these feathered girls…

This will put a smile on my face all month long this spring.  Fortunately, this is mine because it has a oopsie.  But, hey, that’s life, right?

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

Stuff

  • Paper:  Preprinted calendar from Papersource.com, Thick Whisper White Cardstock
  • Ink:  Archival Basic Black
  • Stamps:  Hello Chick and Birthday Banners (sentiment banner)
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  SU! Water Color Pencils, Bunch of Banners Framelits, Aqua Painter

Digits

  • Stamp banner and sentiment on Thick Whisper White scrap and cut with Bunch of Banners Framelit…set aside.
  • Stamp chicks in Archival Basic Black ink (it is water proof)
  • Color chicks with Water Color Pencils.  I lay down all my colors at once, even the ground shadows, and then go over everything with the Aqua Painter cleaning brush on pad or paper towel between color changes.
  • Add sentiment banner to top right corner with dimensionals.

How easy was that month?   And, oh so cute!

Today is a travel day to Nashville to see “the biggles”, my oldest g’kids.  We are planning a lunch out and then a visit to see my g’daughters new digs and nursery!  Should be a great day…I may show pics tomorrow.

Hope you are finding an end to your holiday preparations and beginning to relax and enjoy the season.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

Artwork At Home…

All my blog readers are artist…yes, all of you!  If you love looking at others’ artwork and dream of how you’d like to create your own…you are an artist.

Now, my question to you is “Do you live with your art?”  Meaning if I came to your house, would I look around and say “Wow! this person really loves her art medium!”

Most of us give our art creations away…which is wonderful.  But why not sometimes create something just for you and your house that you can enjoy every day…Maybe it’s a framed piece, a banner for your mantle for the season or maybe a calendar.

An annual calendar is the perfect way to do that.  Here’s a peek at the last three months of a calendar started last November.  Usually my daughter, daughter-in-love and granddaughters and I work on these calendars together the weekend after Thanksgiving.  Talk about a mess in the studio!  But every time I change the month page or just glance at the calendar, sweet memories come to mind…

This stamp set (Glamper Greetings) just makes me smile) and my oldest g’daughter absolutely loves it.

This is the Totally Trees set which gets used a lot because it’s so versatile.

A little reinker down with an Aqua Painter, Thoughtful Branches in Basic Black and of course, Gorgeous Grunge snow with White Craft Ink and White Embossing Powder…magic!

Sadly we will not all be together this year as my daughter and son-in-law are still in Seoul, South Korea.  They elected to come home in September as a birthday surprise.  And “the littles” will be in Florida.

I’ll tell you the source for these printed calendars is Paper Source (papersource.com).  The paper is a letterpress and holds ink well.  The Lucite container makes the stand (not shown).

Maybe this would be a new family tradition for your family this holiday season…or maybe you will make one just for yourself and enjoy it all year long.
