Sympathy Thoughts…

Another passing has happened to a sweet friend.  Things just came to a halt because I needed a really special card for her and my stash was empty.  Just can’t seem to keep a supply of these cards.  But like I always say, when you need one, you need it right then.

I gathered the materials to make the card I had pictured in my mind and this is the result…but you know what?  This card didn’t turn out anything like the one I had in mind.  Does that happen to you sometimes too?  I like this one but I’ll try again for the imaginary one in my head another day…

At least it does look fall(ish) which was my initial intention.  This Copper Foil has proven invaluable lately…used up all the package.  Definitely on my next order for fall and the holidays.  Do I dare tell how many yards of Linen Thread go through this studio?

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

  • Ink:  Calypso Coral, Peekaboo Peach and Elegant Eggplant

  1. What a beautiful card! Isn’t it funny how some designs just never work out as we imagine they would? This one turned out great. I love your masking, using the holly EF, the branch and berries with the colorful fall leaves, the doily and, of course, the twine. The foil paper really adds a lot and I like the way you put the ruched ribbon on top of the burlap ribbon. The inside is very pretty as well. So pretty. I, too, hope you don’t need another for a long time. It’s hard to lose friends. It is amazing how versatile the Holly EF can be. The “b-ism” is a hoot. When I drive by myself, I put my purse in the passenger seat and latch it in with the seat belt, so if I have to apply the brakes quickly, I don’t have to pick every up from the floor. I hate when that happens. But this picture is too funny!! Have a great evening.

    • You are just too sweet HJ…seriously, you notice every little detail. I’d love to see some of your creations. I don’t know which would make the bigger mess…purse or day planner!…B!

  2. I love this one. The use of the linen thread has really inspired me to order. Sept 1 it is on my list. Thanks for sharing your wonderful, inspiring techniques.

    • I’m afraid I may be a bit of a linen thread addict Lin, but it just looks so natural no matter your color scheme. Thanks for stopping by today!…B!

    • This card just seemed to evolve…not what I had in mind at all. But I do like it and I’m glad you do too!…B!
