Shoe Box Swap…

There were four of us in our group who wanted to do a Shoe Box Swap at convention.  So we gathered on the last night in the lobby of the Marriott and stamped away.

Please keep in mind this is late at night and we have had no sleep for four or five days.  Now we look pretty good, right?  We just set up in the lobby of the Marriott and had ourselves a great time.  What was even more fun was the people who stopped by we got to meet when they wanted to see what we were making.  From the left is Sue Parker, moi, Peggy Powers and Jeanne Moss.

So here’s what we made excluding mine since I showed that in a previous post.  In the photo we are actually putting my kit together.

Here’s Sue’s card…

Of course it is adorable.  I haven’t done it yet, but the seeds are supposed to be coated with Crystal Effects.  The seeds are rain drops from the Tree Builder Punch.  The lines on the watermelon rind are from Gorgeous George Set as are the splats on the meat of the watermelon.  I like the way she rounded opposite corners too.

Here’s Jeanne’s card…

This cutie is made with the Floral Wings set.  The color choice is so striking and the flower base is stamped once on the card and once on a scrap and “fussy cut”.  The vase is then set up on dimensionals after you stamp the flowers.  The polka dot DSP is attached to the Basic Black layer then both layers are attached to the card front on dimensionals after attaching the 1/4″ Real Red ribbon on the first Whisper White layer which is also set up on dimensionals.  How sweet is this card?

Last but not least is Peggy’s card…

I don’t have this stamp set…but now I’m definitely ordering it after making this card.  Its the Garden in Bloom Set.  I just love all the layering and using the coordinating DSP from English Garden.  I’m supposed to add some Two-Way Glue and bling to the centers of the flowers which I haven’t done yet.

We had such a good time with this Shoe Box Swap that we decided to do a virtual swap together.  Doesn’t that sound like fun?

Hope you are not tired of seeing projects from convention.  I’m planning to show some of my favorite swaps and then samples from the new Holiday Catalog too.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

I’ll never make that stop after seeing the new catalog…

Get inky…Be HaPpY!

  1. Billie, I so enjoyed our time together last week!

You are so talented, not only at creating gorgeous cards, but also in photographing them!! My card looks ten times better in your pictures!

And, for the record, I still have my Billie Bow!

    • It was a great time wasn’t it? I still haven’t hit the ground yet. Remember I used to be in publishing. I used to have to photograph all kinds of things that weren’t nearly as pretty as your card. Have you had time to work on your blog yet?…B

  2. Billie, all the cards are so pretty. Thanks for sharing them. It looks as though you found a great group of night owls with which to have fun and create great cards. I have been away and missed your posts the last few days and now I can’t wait to catch up on the fun you had there.

    • HJ…the days in SLC were fun beyond measure. I even went a day early and stayed a day later and we just all were doing something at all times. My tail feathers have been dragging this week trying to catch up on some much needed sleep! Thanks for writing!…B
