Pony Ride…

We have a beautiful carousel here in my town nestled in a downtown park by the Tennessee River that has gorgeous hand-carved animals of whimsy including ponies.  This is a “g0-to” spot anytime we have out of town visitors.

So when this new stamp set Carousel Birthday was released, I was pretty sure it would find its way to Rambling Rose Studio…and it did…

And a peek inside…

Up front I will confess the seam binding for the bow is from my ribbon stash and is retired as is the string of Pom poms.  They just made a great prop for this photo.

This Designer Series Paper Cupcakes and Carousels is one of my all-time favorites…I’ve ordered another paper stack.

Here’s the StuffN Digits for you…

Paper:  Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Bermuda Bay – plus Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack and water color paper

Ink: Archival Basic Black

Stamps:  Carousel Birthday

Tools ‘N Embellishments:  SU! Water Color Pencils, Blender Pen, Linen Thread, Ribbon of choice, Stitched Circle Dies, Scalloped Circle Dies

The Very Vanilla base card is 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored, folded and burnished at 4-1/4″

The Daffodil Delight layer is 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ attached to card front with SNAIL

The DSP layer is 4″ x 5-1/4″ attached to Daffodil Delight layer with SNAIL

The Bermuda Bay layer is 1-7/8″ x 5-1/4″

The DSP layer is 1-3/4″ x 5-1/8″ attached to Bermuda Bay layer with snail.  Attach band of ribbon around top of this layer then add both layers to card front at left side with SNAIL.  Make bow with several loops, tie in center with Linen Thread and attach with glue dots over ribbon band.

Stamp carousel pony in Archival Basic Black on scrap of water color paper.  Cut out with Stitched Circle Die.  Color with water color pencils and paint with Blender Pen.

Cut Bermuda Bay Scallop Circle.  Add water colored pony piece with SNAIL.  Add both layers to card front with dimensionals

Inside the Calypso Coral layer is 4-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ attached to card with SNAIL

The Very Vanilla layer is 4-1/8″ x 3-1/8″.  Stamp swirl with Archival Basic Black.  Add a 1/2″ x 3-1/8″ piece of DSP at bottom with SNAIL then add layer to Calypso Coral layer with SNAIL

Hope you enjoyed this little carousel ride and that it might have brought back sweet memories for you too.

I am on a tight school schedule here with “the littles” but we took time yesterday for an after school break and a little ice cream treat in the Florida warm temperatures…

Here’s your “Bism” for today…

Have a HaPpY inky day!

  1. What a cute card front and inside and the envelope too. I love the DSPs and your coloring is great. This will definitely bring a smile to someone’s face. I’m so glad you are able to enjoy the Florida sunshine and have some bonding time with the adorable “littles”. I’m sure they are happy to have you there with them. The “b-ism” is fun and I like the “sweatpants and coffee”.

    • Thank you HJ…I love this cards and especially that Cupcakes & Carousels DSP! It is 82 degrees today. Getting our homework done so we can go bike riding. It’s been a great week. I won the Monopoly game last night!…B!
