Peaceful Pines Tag…

It’s so good to be home after a whirlwind trip to Tampa for Stampin’ Up!’s Global OnStage Event and St. Petersburg for some hugs and kisses from “the littles”.  We even got to go see Charlie Brown!  I’m here to report that the little red headed girl is still giving Charlie a fit.

Today I’ve got another gift tag or tree ornament to add to my collection…

These little tags are so much fun to make and will be a bright addition to any gift package.  Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

For this frame the window sheet was left off because I wanted the dimension to be highlighted.  The background is 2 1/4″ square in Very Vanilla that has been embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing folder and attached to the frame back with Tomboy Glue.

Both trees are from the Peaceful Pines stamp set.  They were stamped on Very Vanilla with VersaMark, sprinkled with Gold Embossing Powder and heated.  I used the Peaceful Pines Framelits to cut out the trees. The larger tree in the background is attached with dimensionals and the smaller tree with double dimensionals on the right side and single dimensionals where it overlaps the larger tree.

The bow is made with the Very Vanilla 1 1/4″ Subtle Stripes Satin Ribbon and the 1/8″ Gold ribbon and attached to the frame with glue dots.   The attaching loop was also made with the 1/8″ Gold ribbon.

I have eight more of these frames and hope to make each one differently.  So stop by this week and check them out.

Thursday night is Hope Note night at Rambling Rose Studio.  We will be making 100 encouraging note cards to be delivered to the women’s cancer center here locally.  It’s a fun night of sharing a meal together and creativity.  I’ll share some of them with you next week.

For those of you who follow my blog, you know my daughter who is in South Korea was diagnosed with thyroid cancer shortly after arriving there.  She had her surgery in September and radiation last month.  Just today we got the report that she is cancer free!  Sweetums and I are exhaling and celebrating this evening.  We are all just so grateful.  Thanks to many of you who have sent encouraging and thoughtful words…you will never know how much they are appreciated.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

If you are inky…you are HaPpY!

  1. Of course, your ornament tag is so beautiful. I love the pink and the gorgeous bow. But the best news is about your daughter. Many of us are breathing a sigh of relief for all of you. I’m so glad you got to visit her recently to give her support and a mother’s hugs. Your “b-ism” today is my motto now that I’m retired I am being very careful about volunteering unless it fits my schedule and I have a passion for it. So far it is working for me.

    • You just retired HJ? Yes, pick those things that tug at your heart. It took me some time after retirement to find my way and not feel guilty. Thank you so much for your sweet comments…this will truly be a grateful Thanksgiving although we won’t be together…B
