Painting With Reinker…

And a fancy corner fold card to boot!  Can you stand it?

So I’ve been showing you some of my water coloring but using well…water colors.  Today I’ve used the new in-color Watermelon Wonder reinker to color this “You’ve Got This” stamp set flower.

Want to see?  Here you go…

This is such a simple way to get your feet wet (pun intended) water coloring and build your confidence.  I inked the stamp with the ink pads (you can do that and not worry too much about over lap) then spritzed the inked stamp about three times before stamping on water color paper.  Hold the stamp there just a bit to allow the ink to soak the paper.  Then pull the color into the white areas with an aqua painter filled with water.

Once you have all the Watermelon done, move to the Cucumber Crush and fill in that area.  Want to add contrast with some darker areas?  Dip your aqua painter into some reinker you have dropped on an acrylic block and shade away!

The sentiment background was done the opposite way with the same colors.  I spritzed the paper first and used my aqua painter to drop reinker on the wet water color paper.  You can move the color around with your aqua painter or let the wet paper do all the work.  Once dry, stamp your sentiment.

Now for the corner fold card.  I looked it up on YouTube and watched this clip here.  See if it helps you.

The mat behind the flower is 2 3/4″ square and the water color paper is 2 1/2″ square.

Inside the card which shows from the front the matting is 5 1/4″ x 4″ Black and 5″ x 3 3/4″ white.

Hope you enjoyed today’s post.  Thanks so much for stopping by.
