OnStage SLC Swaps…

The tradition of swapping handmade cards at a Stampin’ Up! convention is a treasured ritual of those attending.  You can make as many or few as you want, but you don’t want to miss joining in on the fun.

This year I have 100 swaps to share (remember, I do not like to make multiples of anything!) and I will come home with 100 new ideas to share with my peeps.

Here is my swap for this 2017 OnStage Convention…

And my Wink of Stella is showing up…yay!

I doubt there will be another like it since I made the stamp using a die and fun foam.

Stamping and spritzing on watercolor paper is magic…just sayin’

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for this piece…

Stuff

  • Paper:  Thick Whisper White and Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock, plus watercolor paper
  • Ink:  Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive, Tranquil Tide and Archival Basic Black
  • Stamps:  Merry Patterns
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  3/8″ Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon, Wink of Stella, Fun Foam, MISTI or Stamp Positioner, Water Spritzer

Digits

The Thick Whisper White base is 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″

The Lemon Lime Twist layer is 5-1/4″ x 4″ attached to base with SNAIL

To make your own stamp, cut two layers of fun foam for each die and glue together with multipurpose glue.

Cut watercolor paper 3-3/4″ x 5″.  Load your stamp with ink and spritz with water before stamping.  Using your spritzer add water to your image on the paper to promote “blooming” of color.  Set aside to dry.  You can soak up large drips with a tissue.

Once dry add Tranquil Tide ink to stamp, spritz with water and stamp just to the side of the previous trees.  Add a small amount of water to encourage the colors to move and mingle.  Let dry.

Add Old Olive ink to your stamp.  Do not spritz.  Stamp over your first Lemon Lime Twist trees.  Add Wink of Stella to just this tree after the ink drys.

Stamp sentiment in Lemon Lime Twist and Archival Basic Black.

Add ribbon/bow under sentiment and attach in back with SNAIL.

Glue watercolor paper to base with multipurpose glue and weight down the layers until dried.

I hope you will give this technique a try and let me know how you like it!

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

I am so grateful to be where I am today…hope you are too!

Stay inky…be HaPpY!
