Kitchen Art…

Remember these?

Fallart

Witches Brew DSP framed home art

winterart

The inside of this little frame (it’s really a small corkboard) measures 6 1/4″ x 7 1/4″.  When I bought the frame back in September my intention was to change out the art with the season for a seasonal uplift in my kitchen.  So you can see by these photos (if you’re not a regular reader you can open the Home Décor button for more details) I have kept up with my commitment.  Since I’ve decorated everything else for Valentines, I decided to create a little love art for this frame.  Here’s what I came up with…

Kitchenheart

So fun to make.  My plan is to store this and bring it back out next year.  Hope I don’t splatter it with anything when cooking.  The background is the 1 1/4″ burlap on page 37 of  the Celebrate the Everyday Catalog.  The heart was made by outlining three size hearts from the Heart Framelits and filling them in with flowers punched out with the new Petite Petals Punch on page 33.  I used Pretty in Pink, Real Red and Cherry Cobbler cardstock for the flowers and hot glued them to the burlap mat.  The “love” was made with the Expressions Thinlits Die in the same three cardstock colors.  Some pearls here and there and a pretty lace doily and I was done.  Sure brightens up my kitchen counter and coordinates with the mantle decorations I’ve shown earlier this week.

Didn’t get very inky with this project, but I’m still happy with it.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today:  “Life is like a camera…Focus on what’s important, Capture the good times, Develop from the negatives, and if things don’t work out, Take another shot.”

Hope your weekend is a happy one…
