Friends & Hearts…

There are so many different parts of my “job” I love and one of them is being able to make just a little something for a friend “just because”.  We don’t always need a reason for a thoughtful gift…

So I made this for a neighbor/friend I met only a year or so ago.  We just “clicked” and have so much in common…

Being as Valentine’s is next week, this seemed the perfect gift to share with her…

And a close up…

There aren’t many instructions for this one.  The frame is from Hobby Lobby and should fit in nicely with her home décor.  Hopefully she will use this each year at Valentine time.

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits

  • Paper:  Thick Whisper White and Real Red Cardstock
  • Ink:  Basic Gray and Archival Basic Black
  • Stamps:  Sheltering Tree and Hello Life (retired, sentiment)
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Confetti Hearts Border Punch, Craft White Ink, small round brush

  • The open in this mat is 5″ x 5″ so I cut the Thick Whisper White 5-1/2″ square.
  • Stamp the tree image slightly left of center in Basic Gray.  With small round brush and Craft White Ink Refill, highlight left side of tree trunk and top side of limbs.  Let dry or heat.
  • Punch hearts with Confetti Hearts Border Punch with Real Red Cardstock.  Using Multipurpose Glue add hearts.  I kept the larger ones to the center and smaller hearts out.  Place a few hearts falling to the ground.
  • Add sentiment in Archival Basic Black.
  • Run a bead of multipurpose glue around edges and place behind mat.

Classes today and Monday here at Rambling Rose Studio.  We are making some really pretty projects I hope everyone will be excited about.

Spring weather is back here in Tennessee…I’ll take it!

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

My two furbabies always dance with me rain or shine…

Stay inky…Be Happy!

  1. Billie, I love this special Valentine treat for your friend/neighbor! I love this tree and the hearts, plus the font of the sentiment. She will love it too, in that beautiful frame. I love holiday sit-arounds that can be changed out frequently. Today’s “b-ism” picture is too cute and the sentiment is sweet. Have a great Sunday!

    • Thank you HJ…Love the phrase “holiday sit-arounds”…Sweetums would like that too. He calls them “knick knacks”!…B!

  2. I tried to leave a comment a couple of days ago on another one of your fabulous cards but for some reason there was a glitch. Nothing like giving it another go! I just LOVE your framed Valentine Tree! Your neighbor/friend will absolutely love it too!

    • I know Tonya…last week (Thursday I think) there definitely was a glitz with my blog account. I couldn’t get in either! Thanks so much for being persistent…and for stopping by today too!…B!
