Chalkboard Birthday

Here’s another class project that everyone seemed to really like. Anything chalkboard is so popular right now and this color combo is so bright and cheery. There can’t be anyone who wouldn’t want to receive this card for their birthday (well, OK, maybe a guy wouldn’t be that thrilled).  The DSP used here is retired and was called Tea For Two.  However, SU!  has another DSP called Afternoon Picnic with the same designs, but in a different and equally cute color combo.  The color palate includes, Basic Gray, Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla and Wisteria Wonder.  Just substitute your little heart out!  It’s sure to be equally as cute because SU! DSP is awesome.

Here are the supplies you’ll need to make this card:

Base cardstock cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ (try Coastal Cabana!)

  • Black cardstock cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″, lined with white signo pen and white craft ink pad pulled across black paper to create a dirty blackboard effect.
  • Afternoon Picnic DSP (Pg. 151, #131390) cut with Hearts a Flutter framelits and hung from Baker’s Twine.
  • Hearts a Flutter framelits (Pg 187, #130159), Baker’s Twine (Pg 173),  In-Color Boutique Details (buttons Pg. 169, #130938), Pearl Basic Jewels (pg. 171, #119247) or any other embellishment you want to add to your banner.  White Signo Pen and white craft ink pad.
  • Stamp Set:  You’re Amazing (Pg. 15, #126722)

Give this blackboard technique a try…you will not be disappointed.

Let’s get inky together!

Here’s your “B-ism” for today:  “If you learn from defeat, you haven’t really lost.”
