Birth Announcement

Yes, a birth announcement…and at my age!  What was I thinking?  It’s taken almost a year, but I now have a brand spanking new bouncing baby blog!
It’s really nice you have stopped by to see what Rambling Rose Studio is all about.  Grab your favorite cuppa and stay for a bit and play around.  Punch all the buttons and see what you find.  It’s my hope we will become friends and share ideas.  And, that I might inspire you to create your own art whether it is a simple card to brighten someone’s day, scrapping memories, gifts or home decor.
Today I’d like to share a Christmas card. My lighting in this pic doesn’t show it, but the poinsetta is spritzed with Champagne Shimmer and looks gorgeous in person. Here is a shot of the front of the card… IMG_1184

The inside…

and the back showing the lined envelope, too.

Its fun to make a personal card and finish the inside. back and envelope to match, don’t you think? And even though the poinsettia is two layers (fussy-cut, colored with markers from the back and separated with dimensionals), I don’t think this card would take extra postage.

Here’s a list of supplies:

  • Paper:  Vellum for the poinsettia, Real Red and Smokey Slate.
  • Ink:  Real Red, Old Olive, Versmark with white embossing powder.
  • Stamps:  Joyful Christmas and A Merry Little Christmas
  • Tools:  Expressions Thinlets and of course, the Big Shot (what did we ever do without the Big Shot?)
  • Bling:  Champagne Shimmer (I love sparkle of any kind)

So that’s my first blog…I hope as time passes I won’t look back at this blog and say “Geez, that’s my first blog?”  It’s a start and I’m so happy to be part of the blog world. Before I sign off, I’d like to thank Sue Parker of The Sparkled Web for her design, patience and humor.  She has been a delight to work with and I’m so glad I found her (it was fate, Sue!)  If you are even thinking about jumping in the blogging world with me, I promise you will not regret talking with Sue first. Let me leave you with my favorite “B-ism”.  “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade!” Now let’s get inky…
