Amy’s Birthday Surprise…

My daughter-in-love’s birthday was yesterday so I waited to show you this project today so I wouldn’t ruin her surprise in the mail…

Wish I had thought to retake this with the photos I had of them inserted.  They were taken at Thanksgiving of their entire family including the new puppy…a French Bulldog named Stitch.  And I loved the saying included on the mat of this frame.  This frame measures 8″ x 23″ and was purchased at Hobby Lobby.

Here’s a close up of the flowers created with the Botanical Builder Framelits…

Selecting colors is the hardest part of this project I think.  I wanted colors to coordinate with the colors of the mat and copy, but I also wanted the colors to go with her home décor.  They live in Florida so all the foliage and flowers are perfect.

Once you’ve decided on your color palette, cut twice as many of everything in all your colors (including white) that you think you will need including leaves.  You can save your leftovers for other projects…they come in handy!

Stamp and sponge the leaves and flowers that will need it all at one time.

Now you’ve got everything ready and you can relax and enjoy creating your “garden” at the top left and lower right corners.

The leaves were mostly mounted with Tombow Glue or glue dots right to the glass.  The flowers were built with glue dots and dimensionals.  Once your flower layers are all put together, place them on the glass with dimensionals in a formation that pleases your eye.  You just can’t mess us with these flowers…

Once the photos were in it was really cute.  She’s lucky to get it cause I almost kept it!

Hope your Tuesday has gone well so far.  Be sure to stop back by tomorrow.

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

What a nice thought…

If you are inky, you are HaPpY!

  1. So, so sweet, Billie. I love your “garden” in the frame corners. I’m sure she loved it, but I can see why you gave some thought to keeping it. I love the “b-ism” about the feather today. We always need angels around. Have a great day.

    • Wish you could have seen the two photos. We took it in front of an old barn. In the first pic they are all doing something to get ready…you can imagine with two kids and a puppy. In the second pic they are all posed and smiling at the camera…pretty cute!…B!

  2. Billie, this is a most beautiful home decor project! I love all your cards and 3-D projects!
