2017 November – Calendar…

Thanksgiving which falls in November is my favorite holiday…

So this month’s page had to be special too.

11calendar

I do love this page and it’s really quite striking and simple to make.

Here’s the Stuff ‘N Digits for you…

Stuff

  • Paper:  Calendar preprinted from Papersource.com plus water color paper
  • Ink:  Ken Oliver’s Color Burst pigment (Amazon), SU! Water Color Pencils, VersaMark Ink
  • Stamps:  Gorgeous Grunge (splats)
  • Tools ‘N Embellishments:  Gold Embossing Powder, Vintage Leaflits Framelits, Aqua Painter

Digits

  • Spray a piece of water color paper with water liberally.  Add Ken Oliver’s Color Bursts.  I used yellow, red, purple and green.  Spray with more water if you want more movement of color.  Let dry.
  • Cut large maple leaf with Leaflits Framelits.
  • Stamp with Gorgegous Grunge splat stamp in VersaMark Ink, sprinkle with Gold Embossing Powder and heat..ahhhh!
  • Attach with multipurpose glue to calendar page.
  • Scribble a shadow with Smoky Slate water color pencil.  Use Aqua Painter to smooth.  I made six of these and on the first one my Aqua Painter picked up pigment from the leaf spreading it through my gray scribbles.  I liked it!  So all of the others were painted this same way.  Cool.

This is one of those happy mistakes that happen ever so often for me.

One more month to go…

Here’s your “B-ism” for today…

  1. I’m loving these beautiful calendar pages, Billie. Each one is prettier than the last. It would definitely be difficult to choose my favorite. Of course, I’ll wait to see what tomorrow’s post brings. Where the scribble picked up some of the leaf color is great. It definitely doesn’t look like a boo-boo, but is an artistic touch. It looks as though you meant for it to be there. I’m having a great week between Christmas and New Years…just confused as to what day of the week it is and what I’m supposed to be doing. It seems to happen every year with the two holidays so close together! Fun times! I love the sentiment for the “b-ism” today. Have a great Friday.

    • Hey, HJ! Got home late last night and I have no idea what day it is. When we are with “the littles” we are so immersed in their lives that when we leave it’s like jumping out of a rabbit hole. It will be good to get back in the studio after loads of washing of course. I love this page too. Lots of times an “oops” will turn out to be the best thing ever…B!

  2. I love the leaf and the colors, This is beautiful! I love the way the color from the leaf went outside with the shadow too!

    • Thanks Laura…what started as a mistake ended up being a Happy surprise…happens to me all the time!…B!
